Yea I agree. Honestly not bad from Coleman. Breaking ball looked sharp, got ahead. 2 subpar pitches. Hope he can settle in some more.

It blows my mind that it’s taken some of y’all this long to figure out that Coleman is just an average mid week caliber pitcher lol. Ive never been impressed with this dude.

I honestly think he was safe.

Lester and others will be here soon to say that Braswell is good defensively though.

If we had a bullpen Herring might be third starter.

I mean I rewatched it a few times and thought he was safe at full speed. Maybe I’m wrong but it definitely wasn’t obvious.

4 of our last 5 pitchers (minus a 4 hitter stint from Hurd) have been LHP all throwing similar velocity (91/92--Herring can sit 93/94--from a similar arm slot, with a similar shape and velocity off-speed. Literally all but 4 hitters since Holman came out in the 6th on Thursday. That's not great, Bob. Herring works because, well, he's the best of the bunch, but also because he's following Holman and gives a completely different look. They've seen the same guy basically for 13 of the last 14 innings.

Throw Loer in there, too. Though he didn't pitch to many hitters (what, 1 or 2--I left the room while he was in there). It's a huge disadvantage the farther we get into the weekend. Coleman is at a huge disadvantage today because they've all basically seen him the last game and a half.
