Under Appreciated - Jared Jones Defense

His power is unbelievable, but the defense at first base has been surprising. He's digging almost every throw with no issue and making plays.

He won’t make the crazy athletic plays Morgan did but he’s better at picking balls in the dirt and I really don’t give a shite how many people downvote this or argue it

He is very solid at 1B.

The dig on Milam’s play in the top of the 8th was very nice

Add the improved defensive play from Tanks at 3B and our corner infield has been pretty much elite.

we were spoiled by Morgan last year, however Jared has become a vaccum over there....Solid piece to the puzzle for the Tigers and if he stays off the cheese at the plate he will be a top 3 rounder in the MLB in 2025 no doubt.

Beginning of the year he looked like a newborn giraffe over there but has shown tremendous improvement, along with huge improvement at the plate.

Morgan Spoiled fans in a way that’s completely u fair.
dude would have been a middle Infielder if he was right handed.
I always said, Jones really isn’t bad at 1st Base. He just isn’t Morgan good but he was above average last year.

I love this post. I have been thinking this for quite sometime. Our poor performance in general has over shadowed it seemingly. But totally well worth the recognition, and one very bright spot. I am a die hard, life long Tre Morgan FAN, so I do not compliment Jared Jones lightly, especially being so fresh off Morgan’s amazing season and season saving play.

His defense is not under appreciated. A lot of people have noted it and so have game announcers.

I wouldn’t count on him being a high draft pick for the 2025 draft.
