So LSU had 1 ten year stretch where they competed at the level of the blue bloods in the tourney. How long has the program been around?

If you had actually read the post, this wouldn't have been necessary.

Try again. we were very much a basketball
"school" in that period.

Do they? Go look at Alabama and tell me the amount of class attrition they’ve had since Oats got there. frick it I’ll just tell you. In three years they’ve lost 4 players, one of whom was the 200th ranked player in his class and another was a grad transfer. The only contributor they lost was Primo who was a lotto pick. By year three Wade had already lost Naz, Kavell, Emmitt, and Marlon to pro ball or graduation.

That's how basketball is, you have to have consistent top ten classes and capitalize every single year on the talent you have.

So you expect us to be Kentucky and be a one and done factory then. Okay, I hate to break it to you but that probably ain’t happening. They way we’ll win is by building up an experienced roster and then supplementing it with big time freshman talent and transfers, which is what we are currently doing.

If a football coach loses 80% of his class in two years he’s probably trash and should be fired. It’s a totally different sport.

Good coaches manage rosters. That's why Orgeron is no longer here.

Looks like it might be Wade's reason for exiting too.

Every team with talent deals with the same issues.

LSU is a victim of its own success. The Wade haters all seem to forget that this team was picked BOTTOM of the conference preseason. That speaks a lot to the base talent level of the team and the players relative development. We reel off 15 wins in a row and this board thinks we should be in the final four. Suddenly we get a couple injuries and have our lack of depth exposed and people look around and say we aren't meeting expectations, when in actuality it's just a regression to the mean. The truth is that this team has STILL over performed expectations and y'all want to run the coach out of town. Will wade isn't tom crean or cuonzo martin.

Eason, according to Wade, stayed after hours developing his game unlike other players.

Did Orgeron develop Joe Burrow?

That's weak, Roger. I don't even know why I responded. Do you really think if Eason stayed at Cincy he would still be a first round pick?

Oh you mean like bringing in a first round pick at the forward spot, a 5 star transfer pg, and a grad transfer veteran pg?

Who knows? We have plenty of talent but I am just telling you what Wade said. Eason is self motivated, worked independently to up his game.

Most of the roster is former highly recruited players. This isn't a team bereft of talent.

At some point in their careers, this board said these guys couldn’t play at LSU, much less in the nba

Tim quarterman
Garrett temple
Skylar Mays
Brandon Sampson
Antonio Blakeny

Gaines after a 4th year will likely sniff some sort of pro career

Underachieved?

What were the preseason expectations of this team with Miller?

Picked 6 in the conference. Given the logjam at 5-9, we met that expectation.

Most people had them as a 10-12 seed (Lunardi had them as a last 4 in to start the season). We will overachieve in that aspect.

If you think this team underachieved in a conference that will have 4 teams on the top 4 seed lines and 7 in the dance, you didn’t have realistic expectations.

You've totally whiffed on this.

In fact you're making the Wade detractor's point that he can't coach these guys up.

A bunch of 4 and 5 star high profile high school basketball players and yet only 1 is sniffing the NBA at this point.

If I'm a high profile recruit, I go to a school with a legit coach.

TE for sure. Murray is a possibility. After 3-4 years of development Reid could make the league. Too early to tell with guys like Fudge. Lots of raw athleticism there.

He took Tari Eason who was getting less than 10 minutes a game at Cincy and has turned him into a potential lottery pick, what the hell are you talking about?

He also took KBW, who was seeing 5 minutes a game at Oregon and made him an all-conference type player who has made a pretty good living playing pro ball.

If you don’t think kids in the portal notice this, you’re an idiot.
