First off, I wanted Canda to stay. After we put up yardage on Bama, I think with a great QB, we could beat them with that Offense. But he isn't here anymore. That ship sailed.
Secondly, I wanted Briles after Canada was done...but we hired Ensminger.
I COMPLETELY understand why fans are pissed. We were told he was " going to hire the best Coordinators in the country"...but in the end, he settled with his buddy Ensminger.
So I will say this. He hasn't been a full on OC in 20 years which makes me think we could suck on offense. On the other hand, he took over someone else's offense, and ran it better than he did (A man everyone celebrated as the next coming of God when hired...akaCam Cameron!). Which makes me think he could turn out to be a good OC.
Point is, I don't know and none of you do either.
If we want to complain about how we got here, we have that right. But for the people saying we will be lucky to win 5/6 games because of the Ensminger hire, you are only showing yourself as a clown. None of us know what we are in store for next year.....might be a shite show, might be a good surprise.
And last, if it is a shite show, CEO is gone...and likely Aleva too. So let's sit back and see how it unfolds.

The problem is the trajectory of our program. We’ve become satisfied with 9 win seasons. With our talent we should still be competing for titles—not 3rd place in the division

Won't disagree. I mean, I will say this, looking at next year's schedule, I will happily take 10 wins not including a bowl game. But yes, as a fan base, we seem to have settled with mediocricy.

Agreed. But we’re not true fans according to the goons on here.

Anything is possible but common sense and rational thinking tells you that we are in for more of the same. I just don't see how a man who hasn't been a coordinator in years will all of a sudden turn LSUs weakness into a strength.

I guess Les Miles had his answer right under his nose the whole time. It just took Ed O to figure it out.

As moronic as it sounds, it's possible. Likely, no....but possible. Which was my point about him taking over Cam's own offense and running it better than him!
We don't know what is going to happen. I have my doubts, but I can't say "we will definitely suck on Offense".

You guys “see stats” without regard to the opponents.
The only 2 real defenses we faced after Miles was fired were Bama 120ish total yards and ZERO points and UF who was an awesome scoring defense is gave up some yards, but stopped them. Miles lost to Wisconsin was the number 2 rated defense in the country and AU who was 11.

Then there are the teams that he did beat as OC. The thats where the issues and LIES BEGIN.
They ran up the score on bad teams. That isn’t hard to do.

As a reminder, here are those teams.
2016 Opponents Defensive Rankings (Stats Starting Missouri game)
Wins
Total Defense: 71
Rush Defense: 81
Scoring Defense: 67

Opponents Records
Average wins: 7
Average Losses: 6

Losses
Total Defense: 4
Rush Defense: 20
Scoring Defense: 4

Opponents Records
Average wins: 12
Average Losses: 3

Here are the mighty teams we beat and how they rank on defense:

This is out of 128 teams.

Southern Miss total defense 19; rush defense 54 (couldn’t stop the run. LSU runs).

TAMU total defense 96; rush defense 83

Arkansas total defense 84; rush defense 102

Ole Miss total defense 101; rush defense 113

Missouri total defense 117; rush defense 118.

What the hell does this say about how difficult it is to call plays against these teams?
Texas Tech had a better rush defense than Missouri to put that into perspective.

I agree with all that you posted. But let me ask you this simple question.
Do you honestly believe if Cam Cameron stayed at OC, we put up those numbers???!! We played a ton of shitty team in years past and still didn't put up those numbers or anything close.
He simply ran Cam's offense better than he did. That is 100% fact.

That's what you consider long, 244 words?

For some people on here, anything past a paragraph is considered long! But no, I don't honestly think it's a long poost.
Did you really count the words?

I don't believe anyone is satisfied with 9 win seasons. Some people try to stay positive some don't.

Perhaps I should have said accustomed to 9 win seasons, not satisfied

I don't belive that is the case either but I can see why you would think that.

Of course it's possible but unlikely. The free market is usually a pretty good indicator of what you have as far as quality goes in a coach. No one was coming after our HC or OC for their services at their current positions.

As an aside, second place in our division won the NC.

Are you sure that was Cam or was it Miles? Miles dictating who was to be the QB. Changing plays to running plays from the sidelines, etc?
You saw EXACTLY that from Orgeron and he has SAID THAT HE WILL COORDINATE THE RUN GAME. He did that in the Troy game and admitted as such.

He needs to coach dline and not frick with anything offensively or with any other team. If you don’t believe me, he had to pay 300K a year to Coach Jenkins because he abandoned his position group to do exactly that - frick with the offense. It ISN’T IN HIS SKILL SET! frick PEOPLE!!!

He needs to just eat his nails and cheer.
