She’s like the Mark Richt of softball. She’s always going to have us win games but impossible not to wonder if she will ever elevate the program. Torina is also such a gregarious person like Richt is. Both sides of the coaching debate agree she’s all class and a great ambassador to LSU.

My hope is that we return this pitching staff and heavener is elite, then Neal continues to coach the hitting up. I know Dobson has a good reputation in the coaching circles but more new blood would be nice-especially if the hitting success is credited to Neal.

I am all for fans going to support LSU but you don’t have to be starving for the camera 24/7 constantly begging for attention.

It’s his right to travel and support LSU but you can go about it in a manner better than what he does. Obviously his craving to constantly be on tv is some sort of internal need to be validated

I seriously doubt Beth is going anywhere however I wouldn’t be stunned if there were assistants moving elsewhere. BTW, Neal doesn’t do the hitting he assists according to interviews from BT

My best case scenario, Beth decides she wants to follow her daughters around and retires. Howard wants to follow his son playing college ball next year and retires. We bring in new, hungry blood that has relationships with the big dog travel ball coaches. A guy can dream, can’t he?

Yeah, hearing her credit Dobson for her “amazing run” today didn’t give me any confidence she thinks change should come.

I think she’s great putting together a great culture of a program from what I can see but it’s always been a development issue…and it’s minor in the big picture but I’d be elated if she stopped coaching third

I just think the talent level is a notch below many SEC teams and with up 8 LH in the lineup it makes it easy on pitchers…LSU has 3 home runs from the right side of the plate all year, that’s a issue

Where would the assistants be going? Lindsay already left, we expecting Dobson to leave?

Next year is simply gonna be a massive rebuild unfortunately and it may take a couple years to fully recoup the amount of production and experience lost in this senior class (between the 5th years and transfers). I have high hopes for Heavener and some of the incoming class, but we've seen countless top 10 recruits take time to adjust to the college level and some just never pan out. They will have to hit the portal very hard this offseason for some proven production.

That would make absolutely zero sense. Why make a lateral move?

She played college ball at Florida. Maybe she goes back there at some point, but her family (including her parents) are all in Baton Rouge now.

What massive production are we going to have to replace. I will miss Newland Briggs Gutierrez The rest can be replaced in the portal if Torina works hard enough at it. As far SS just get a slick fielder who hits .150 against SEC pitching and you have somewhat replaced Pleasants. Amber Serret clone would work

Not sure if HD or Neal will leave, I said I wouldn’t be stunned…I just know hitting coaches usually want full responsibility for hitting and that is HD role. Also, Neal had several other SEC offers to be the hitting guy so if the right school called he would have a decision to make

Well if it's bringing him the attention and being a topic of conversation among strangers, I think he is validated. And he may actually be getting sponsored to travel, who knows!

I dont disagree with some of the current production is replaceable but losing

-Newland
-Briggs
-Gutierrez
-Pleasants
-Petty
-Lynch
-Carson

Thats still a lot of experience/depth. As evidence by some of the younger players, its simply gonna take time and reps to develop to get where LSU needs them to get to eventually.

Chaffin is graduating and moving on, so with Berzon and Heavner, LSU will have dominant 1-2.

Thought Chaffin was a Jr. also. 3 would be plenty. Woman rarely get hurt pitching.

357... I was at OU all weekend to watch the daughter of lifetime close family friends pitch for them vs Houston.

I didn't know this, but OU is like us in that they have 10 seniors and most start, so their dynasty may hit a little snag next season. By the way, Houston is awful and OU runs 6 starters out there over .500 batting average. Then Saturday Gasso benched a couple for what she said was disrespect of the game without mentioning their names. Today Patty was mad on radio afger the game because she feels their offense is taking things for granted.

I'll have to watch Sunday LSU game to see what caused Beth to get ejected. I'm got a couple texts on the drive back to Sugar Land... glad to see her fighting for the team. BTW, the umpires in the Big 12 are horrible too.
