He may be the 2nd best rookie on their team. What are odds for Jared Jones?

Did Strasburg or Prior ever win rookie of the year?

Imanaga is going to win it and he just might win the Cy Young as well

Prior finished his rookie campaign with a 6–6 record with a 3.32 ERA, and 147 strikeouts in 116+2/3 innings pitched.[3] The Sporting News called his rookie season "stellar", and he finished seventh in National League (NL) Rookie of the Year Award voting.[3][21]

In his second start, Strasburg was removed after pitching six no-hit innings.[45] He finished his minor league stint with an overall record of 7–2, an ERA of 1.30, 65 strikeouts and 13 walks in 55+1/3 innings

I don’t know why you got downvoted for this. Jared Jones is outrageously good

People are just uninformed & think the #1 pick from LSU is the best. That’s fair on an LSU message board, but they should be well informed if they’re putting their money down.

Yeah Jared Jones is box office… his fast ball velo isn’t skenes but is still elite. Jones best pitch is his slider he can throw at 93 mph with 16 inches of break he’s a freak. Skenes slider maxes at 90

If you want an example go look at the slider jones threw to former LSU commit Bryce Turang

That’s nice and he may put the whole league on notice and win it but tough coming in mid season right?

I didn't know that he was recruited to Air Force as a catcher

I saw it Turang got absolutely deleted and he’s been one of the best 2B in the game this season

Everything you said about Jones is true. But for Skenes, when you are consistently throwing 100+ and come back with a 90mph slider, that’s a hard pitch to hit.

Incredible combo with Jones and Skenes for Pitt. They need to build around them going forward

Jones has indeed looked impressive at 22 yrs old. He has a head start this season so it will be interesting. Shame though that both pitch with a small margin of error as the Pirates OFF (the help) is ranked 26 out of 30 in runs scored.

Best of luck PS!
