With 2 outs and nobody on base to start. Herring mind fricked himself and was all over the place after the second out. This team can’t handle high leverage situations for shite. All of them get tight and make things so much harder than it has to be.

I don’t care if Herring is your guy there. When he threw six balls in a row, you have to go get him.

Yea, he looked like he started to let the pressure get to him. Never really seen Herring like that but that's what happens when you have to win to get in the postseason. That pressure ratchets up, you make a couple of poor pitches and get a couple poor calls and it snowballs from there.

He was visibly rattled but the HBP should have sealed the decision. Either way, he battled it out and he got the last batter to hit a dribbler that he could have thrown out had Milazzo not called him off. Game over and great experience test under pressure should be the result but instead the best reliever on the team is a borderline head case following this disaster.

I mean possibly, but Herring also got out of the inning. Minus the 90 feet simple throw to first.

It’s my fault. I turned to my wife and said “Herring is looking good!”
