We have a national championship coach.
Lots of talent on the roster.
A couple weeks ago, many of you said the deepest pitching staff in the country.
And now, all of a sudden, after losing one series, we need come to Jesus moments and Jay Johnson is making terrible decisions and our players suck.

This weekend sucked and we played like shite. The next 4 weeks are going to be brutal. There is reason for concern.

A lot can happen before the post season BUT
what has this team shown you so far that they will be serious contenders?
We don’t have a single outfielder who can hit his weight right now.
Our great talented pitching staff just made this soft hitting state team look like big leaguers.
Defense outside of White was garbage.

I agree that idiots are going to jump off the deep end today. That said, Johnson made some Manieri-like calls rolling with pitchers a few throws past their expiration today. Directly lead to at least 5 runs.
It’s the first SEC series of the season with a very different team. If he adjusts and it falls into place, no big deal.

They had good hitting numbers last season. They just had no pitching and didn’t have injuries to blame like we did or guys like our top two starters. Like us, they spent the offseason overhauling that staff.

Why do people keep saying State can’t hit? 5 of their starters are hitting over .300 and that doesn’t include their cleanup guy who hit one 430 ft today and looks like he is starting to get it going.

We did get our asses kicked by an unranked team in the first series that mattered this year.
I’m not about to panic, but it was a really shitty way to start the SEC schedule. And I understand why people are concerned.
