ND Players Views on BK - Insider View

Note: I am not an ND insider.
However, I work in South Bend and just graduated from ND. My boss is the father of a current starting O-lineman who didn't attend ND but would train a lot with those guys in the offseason because of proximity/camaraderie. While the ND players on record haven't seemed to disparage BK in any way that I've seen, apparently the guys who trained with NFLer (whose name I don't wanna reveal for privacy reasons) were not really that fond of BK off the record and "there was not a lot of love lost" when he left. Boss was partially upset about the way Kelly left but seemed to imply this was the attitude of players towards BK in the years prior too.
I know, I know. Grapevine info, butthurt ND fans, yadda yadda. Take the info for what it is worth, just thought it was an interesting insider perspective that was different from the normal chatter I've worn around here. Hoping it was just BK losing interest in his last few years here and that his renewed energy at LSU has a much different effect.
And don't worry I troll the ND fans here about it all plenty, was literally wearing my LSU natty shirt in the ND dining hall when news broke of Kelly's move lol

Better than what we’ve been dealing for years. I’ll take Kelly.

Funny enough, I just watched a video where Najee Harris talked about him and Saban struggling to coexist and him actually leaving the team for 2 weeks.
Just remember this, the players LOVED Orgeron

How many points do we lose if our players don't love him?

I’m numb to the whiny arse ND fans at this point. Remember who it was that got you out of the dark Weis and Willingham left you in.

A lot of people within the organization were also happy when Saban left LSU.

We’ll see soon. I’ve heard good and bad from the ND side.

I don’t care what a bunch of 18 year old football players think about Brian Kelly on a personal level. 18 year olds are stupid and immature and if they love you as a whole, you’re probably fricked up to some degree

He isn’t a warm friendly guy but much more all business like similar to Saban

ND people talking bad about Kelly is not new information.

Do we want a coach that coddles players and let's them run the program or do we wanna coach that instills accountability and gets them out of their comfort zone while demanding certain things be done a certain way?
We will see who is more successful soon enough.

I was in school at LSU when Nick Saban left and Miles came in. I had friends on the team, and there was no love lost there either. We see how that has really hindered Saban and Alabama these last 15 or so years. Still winning, still putting players in the league, and still recruiting at the top each year. Point is, how the players feel about the coach doesn’t really matter if they are playing their butts off and winning.

I don't think I even knew ND existed when they were coaching because I was a kid who only knew of/supported LSU hahaha

He's there to win football games not make sure every kid likes him.

This is a good point. LSU player I grew up with was a starter on 2003 NC team and I remember asking him his thoughts on Saban and his exact words were, "He's an a-hole but we're winning."
Winning usually cures everything.
