National Championship To Which We Do Not Speak (1908)

Many fans do not know that in 1908 the LSU Football Tigers went undefeated ( 10-0) outscoring opponents 442-11. The 1908 Tigers were deemed co-National Champions along with Penn. Yet, the school does not officially recognize this season as a Natty.
There was a controversy surrounding the paying of players, but LSU was cleared of any such charge.
The record:
LSU - 41 Young Mens Gymnastics Club of Nola - 0
LSU - 81 Soldiers of Jackson Barracks - 5
LSU - 26 Texas A & M - 0
LSU - 55 SW Presbyterian - 0
LSU - 10 Auburn - 2
LSU - 50 Mississippi A&M - 0
LSU - 89 Baylor - 0
LSU - 32 Haskell - 0
LSU - 22 La Tech - 0
LSU - 36 Arkansas - 4
Somebody needs to run another flag up in the north end zone !!!

The rules were different then. Touchdowns were worth 5. Field goals were worth 4.

LSU admin needs to recognize this finally. It's even listed as a championship on the freaking NCAA website. This is not a Bama-esque claim.

My understanding is that LSU team was essentially UCF and Penn was Bama/Clemson. Good but not on the same level. Don’t shoot the messenger.
