How many official visits to the mound are allowed?

On the broadcast, they made a comment about the abundance of mound visits LSU made yesterday. This was when only Milazzo visited to talk to the pitcher. Do those now count towards the 6 or was it another botched delivery by the broadcast team?

Dumb question here. Can a pitching change be made without a mound visit, from the dugout.

I imagine so but no coach would leave his pitcher out to dry like that, I hope. As a former pitcher in HS, that’s a long walk.

The coach coming out to pull his pitcher does not count as a mound visit
