It should have been LSU (9-3) - Iowa (9-3) and Tennessee (8-4) - Wisconsin (7-5).

LSU will be the warm up act for the Playoff games. If JD plays, the game will get high viewer ratings.

This is embarrassing with Wisconsin's record and not even ranked. This bowl matchup for LSU is a no win situation with no chance to improve from 13 ranking.

Wisconsin has the reputation as decent football program from the Midwest and their fans travel well.
If LSU takes care of business in the bowl game and with a little help from other games they could finish at #10.
I think that most people had higher aspirations at the start of the season but that isn't the end of the world.
A Heisman will bring in a lot of good publicity, too.
Let's face it; next year most bowl games will be the Big-18 vs. the South-Eastern 16 anyway.
If LSU takes care of business in the bowl game and with a little help from other games they could finish at #10.

Zero Wisconsin fans are going to travel from Wisconsin to Tampa for this team and for this bowl. There are a decent number of midwesterners who have retired to Tampa, so you might get some attendance that way.

Tampa is great city with great weather and the team will have a good few days. Plus it sets the tone for next year. I look forward to New Year’s Day games.
There are tons of programmes that we are more prestigious than and that we have a better record / ranking than who are playing in better bowls than this one against better opponents than this one.

Not too many will travel, but some will. Nice to get into warm weather in late December from zero degrees in Wisconsin.
