We may not have a Skenes, but our weekend starter depth should be as stout as it's ever been.

We just need to find somebody that looks like Dylan Crews to bat in front of Tanks.

Been interesting to watch the rise of White in the draft. Are teams feeling better about his prospects of actually playing in the field? He obviously was a bit of a disaster at 3B last season but also wasn't exactly 100% either.

I thought he may fall in the late 1st or 2nd round range simply due to not having a position and may just be a DH at MLB level.

Still way too early but Holman I would expect for just this seaosn since he's put together quite a bit of stuff to go on for scouts in college.

Jump has almost nothing so far in college so he would probably need to put together a good year to go that high otherwise might need another season. Always tough to see how guys come off hard surgeries too.

I think he meant his defense was shaky.

13 errors, .859 fielding %

White is better defensively then Jacob Berry and he was first college player off board and also a better overall hitter

An MLB team will salivate over his bat first and worry about defense later. Just like in football, big league clubs and talent evaluators see raw products, not finished ones

He was better than Jacob Berry at 3rd and Berry went 6 overall

This, it was the worst fielding percentage of any starter I can remember at LSU and by a good margin at that. Again, he obviously wasn't 100% so wondering how much that played a part in it. He flat out struggled at 3B though a bunch.

Dont really agree here, although Berry was also awful at 3B. Again, White had worst fielding percentage of any starting position player at LSU I can remember last season. He wasn't 100% so I know that played a part, but on the surface level he was not better. He definitely has a better arm than Berry but range is certainly limited and even with that big arm he really made things difficult for Morgan. Obviously NEITHER Berry or White are out there at 3B because of defense

Thankfully we're long past of the days of say Derek Helenihi at 3B.

to be fair, fielding percentage isn't the end all stat to describe how good/bad someone is at defense

I watch all the time, he's been more mid-late 1st on average than anything in the more distant past ones I've been following. This is the first one I've seen anywhere with him all the way up at #7. It's been trending upwards no doubt.

I'm in the recruiting thread all the time posting PG rankings and commenting on mock drafts

You're right, but, that is INCREDIBLY bad to be at .859, like really really really awful.

But again, his injury issues certainly played some part of that. In the end, he's obviously not out there for defense whatsoever.

White played well at 3rd down the stretch. If he can commit to it, he can play at 3B professionally. All of his actions are very good.

If Jacob Berry can get drafted where he did, so can white. I think White is a better hitter & a better 3B

his bat is just too good.

The power is eye opening but he also just hits. Average .374. Doesn’t walk a lot but gets on base a ton. Doesn’t strike out all that much. Doesn’t shy away from the moment, absolutely has the clutch gene. I think he hit 5 grand slams last year.

teams like defensive versatility because it give you more opportunities to see the field, but they’d draft a guy high if they really felt like he would be David Ortiz. it’s not like DHs have no value. It’s just a very narrow path to the show.
