Most of the time when players don't get on the field or start, it's the coaches' fault for practicing favoritism, which comes out as "politics." Someone has to be at fault, so kids blame it on the coaches, rather than acknowledging that maybe they just weren't good enough or prepared to play in a program like LSU.

I know several players who weren't starting at LSU under other coaches, so they transferred. They all blame the former LSU coaches to a certain extent.

Who said he wasn't wanted around? BK played Womack and Whit Weeks a lot less than he should have last year, does that mean they're not any good?

Y'all are so eager to dog these kids.

He did. In the interview.

I'm not eager to dog anyone, don't attack me man, I'm just telling you what was said in the interview.

It's always politics when you can't do the job you were brought in to do. Best of luck though....

Kids say Politics when they really mean business. He got hurt, he was getting burnt. LSU made a business decision to play someone else.

No politics involved. This ain't high school where you can get your mommy to call the school to demand more playing time for the star player.

He is Lawrence Welch’s grand nephew.

When he was signed everyone thought he was the second coming of Greedy (except for me). I was hoping I was wrong, I just didn't see the talent. I kept asking "where is Welch" as he was never mentioned by the coaches or anyone watching practices. Seems he wasn't as good as advertised or that injuries shut him down. Best of luck to him at ASU...

Which LSU DB was an example of great coaching. There was reason to believe that DBs who came from other programs were adequate. The ones that LSU and staff recruited, not so much.

Would you admit that Politics played a role in Joe Burrow not playing at Ohio St.?
He seemed to be capable at LSU.
Would a lack of coaching have prevented Daniels from reaching his potential at Arizona.
Did Ensminger/Brady. with Burrow, and Sloan, with Daniels, make a difference?
I think so.
Wishing Welch the best.

I was pulling for him to succeed, but he didn't. It wasn't because of a lack of opportunity.

But I can see how 17, 18, 19 year olds sometimes feel "betrayed" after going through the recruiting process. For 2, 3, (maybe more) years you have numerous coaches, from numerous schools, constantly telling you how great you are and how great you are going to be on their team. They see you as a starter. They see you as All-Conference. They see you as an All-American!!! They won't dare say a single thing negative about you.

Then the player signs. And all of the arse-kissing, goofy dancing, dumb photos, etc go away. The coaches break you down and expect you to perform. The guy who a few months earlier told you that you were going to be a force on his team is now telling you that you're not good enough to see the field....all while he is kissing the arse of the next big HS recruit at your position.

As mature adults we know the recruiting sales pitch is full of a TON of disingenuous fluff. So we don't go into something expecting simply to be given the reins to run the show. But that knowledge comes with experience.

LSU was desperate for DBs over the last two years. So I don't think he can truly say he didn't get his shot. But I can see why a kid might think (even if somewhat irrational) he was lied to by the coaches.

I could agree with this before NIL but these guys want to get paid like adults -( most get paid more than half the people in this country make in a year) They need to put on their big boy pants now

Nah. Good player. Coach made an example of him for not following the rules or he would be starting for us this year. His fault for not being more mature.
