Cliffs:
-2023 LSU with a top 35 defense wins the national championship
-Kevin Peoples is a rising star and possibly the most consequential addition to the staff
-LSU has the 4th best odds to win the SEC but the 6th best odds to win the national title
-The personnel on the defensive side of the ball is likely not championship-caliber
-But with the quality of the new defensive hires, it is possible to make a very tasty meal with the same ingredients that made you gag last season

LSU has two defensive tackles. Having an adequate defense is a pipe dream.

Savion and or Shand could move inside. We have a juco signee and 5 star freshmen that will both get reps next fall. If it’s just those four and Guillory/Lee six months from now then it’s a concern

Didn't do any homework on our new DC did ya? Base package is typically a 3-3-5.

You're wasting your time talking logic to the naysayers. I've been saying it is almost a given that Paris Shand will move to DT. Mike Detillier said the same thing. And S Jones is not fast enough at his weight to be on the end anymore. But hey, these people who keep acting like LSU doesn't have any options at DT don't understand football very well.

I think LSU is going to do a lot better than people are thinking.

LSU will have a legitimate rushing attack next year.

Book it

Exactly. It's like people think we don't have actually quality position coaches now. Our previous group made us look like our players suck. One of the biggest names at the senior bowl is Bo Davis's DT. You think he can't do something with Guillory, Lee, and the big bodies at DE that should be moved inside? Dude has a 5 star DT coming in and 1, if not 2 JUCO DL coming in. They will get all that sorted out by game time.

Our schedule is a godsend too. A Saban less Bama coming to LSU, Ole Miss coming to LSU AFTER LSU is on bye, and Oklahoma coming to LSU. UCLA has to travel to LSU early in the season, and our hardest true road game is TAMU (which could be a loss).

Let’s not pretend there aren’t plenty of question marks. Even if those guys move inside there is no guarantee they can play DT well enough. Bodies is not the same as guys who can play well. It’s a possible stop gap though. I still expect at least one promising transfer.

If Guillory and Lee anre our starting DT’s next year we are in trouble. I like Shand, but he needs to add a lot of strength to play 1 or 3 tech in the sec. We need at least 2, but probably 3 DTs from the portal.

LSU is going to develop a pretty diverse running attack next year. Run game will make the offense hum because the receivers and qb are already really good.

We know you’ve been saying it and it meeps making you sound dumb. Having to move DE to DT isn’t a good thing.
