If he could pick up a little more speed he could up his batting average and get on base more often.

He's slow. Period. He is young, and in peak physical condition. This is as fast as he is ever gonna get.

He could be worked with to pick up a little speed, but it wouldn't be allot.
I remember Eddie Furniss worked hard between his junior year to go from really slow to just slow.

If Jones had the speed you wanted him to have he’d be a first round draft pick in the next NFL draft as an edge rusher
