Jay Johnson put the ball in his best reliever's hand with a 2 run lead. His 5th year senior catcher fricked up and cost his team 2 runs.

Jay Johnson left little in to face a left handed batter. While struggling and after the 2 run Homer brought herring in 1 batter maybe 2 batters to late.

He had the left handed batter down 0-2 and threw a 95 mph fastball up and away and the kid put a great swing on the pitch. It was also hit at 95 mph and still left the yard.

He probably should have pulled Little after that pitch, but the 6th run scoring was on Milazzo, not Jay.

Wasn’t a good pitch at all. It was fat and elevated with an 0-2 count. There’s zero reason to leave anything elevated over the plate with that count. Especially against a good hitter.

The pitch was called off the plate. Little left it over the plate.

Don’t you speak bad about milazzo. This board won’t stand for it

Just a bad series at the end. Herring lost it, milazzo blew it, little was not dominant this week. Just a bad way to lose.

My thing is this. Herring is gone and you lost game one. The sweep could happen. Tomorrow is the biggest must win of the season.

Jay didnt lose the game tonight, the players did. Blame white for not stepping on 3rd, or kling not scoring on the wild pitch

exactly. Not his fault herring gave away 3 free bases with 2 outs in the B9 and Milazzo made a horrible throw when you would expect to be able to rely on a veteran player.

That didn’t cause Herring to shite his pants and load the bases or cause Milazzo to revert to 4 year old tee ball play

JJ over thought this in the last 4 innings.
Watching these guys fall behind to batters consistently (relievers) and him leaving them in there for the inevitable to happen is frustrating.
JJ literally trying to manifest a victory with his thoughts out there tonight. He should have had multiple pitchers up and ready throughout the 7-9 innings and if we are falling behind getting in bad counts, make the move. You had no room for error and now what you do may not matter.
He let the team down tonight imo.

Jones has been a scooping machine at first BUT he has to move his damn feet and catch that ball. No excuse for him to have his feet set before the throw. He has to get in position with his feet and catch that ball.
Last year that ball would have been caught and there wouldn’t have been contact. That’s the trade off, power for athleticism.
