We had a chance to get him and didn't. He has zero reason to leave Texas.

We see this thread every time we have an opening at the DL coach and he hasn’t came yet.so I’d say no, he isn’t coming.

The question still remains. What happens to Lindsey? We have to get that resolved and then bring in someone who is actually a D-line coach.
Having said that, I would be shocked if Bo Davis is in the conversation.

Brick shouldn’t be found on that list of highest paid D-Line coaches.

Oh - I absolutely get that and I actually like Baton Rouge. I love Louisiana culture period. Consistently amazed on this board by the number of LSU fans that talk shite about New Orleans, which is the most culturally significant city in US history and along with Chicago my favorite city in the entire country. I also think Austin was a hell of a lot better 30 years ago than it is today. That said, while I like the LSU campus more than the UT campus there is simply no comparison between the cities. Austin has way more outdoor activities, more diverse culinary options, better music scene, better economic opportunities, etc.

The traffic in Austin absolutely sucks and the city is far more phony than it was when I went to school, but it’s still a pretty great town. I’m quite sure I’m more liberal than 99% of this board so its open-mindedness is a selling point, not a detriment, to me.

I feel like I have the best of both worlds - two teams to cheer for and two places I love, albeit for different reasons.

I think we’ll get the chance to put that to the test the second week of January, but this line of thinking puzzles me. I am a die-hard Longhorn, but objectively - other than the secondary, is there a single position group at which Texas doesn’t have the edge against Bama. I see similar comments from the UGA fanbase on SECRant. With all due respect for their accomplishments the past few years, same thing applies to them - other than TE/DB (and our TE is probably the second best in the country), where are the Dawgs better than we are? Texas has the best DL in college football, a damn good OL, is ridiculously deep at RB, WR, and QB, has good LB play - literally our only weakness is the secondary and even there we are at worst middle of the pack in college FB. Washington is IMO to toughest matchup for us of all potential opponents in the CFP.

It’d be weird to leave a team that’s in the playoff and all the recruits you’ve brought in there, but the intrigue of going back to your alma mater is always an X factor.

Although not his alma mater, Cortez Hankton (from New Orleans) won a national championship at Georgia and proceeded to move to LSU the next year in a lateral move not a promotion. It has been done before.

are you aware of the phrase, "different strokes for different folks"?

I understand that Austin is a much more vibrant city, but you may be shocked to learn not everyone wants to live in the California of the south.

Just about anyone would prefer Austin especially when you have a very high income

Not to sound completely delusional but one can’t help but think the ceiling at LSU is higher than Texas

That is completely delusional. With the resources Texas has and the high school talent in state, Texas has probably the highest ceiling in the country.

If they ever actually got their shite together for an extended time, they would be the scariest program in the country.

As much as we all love LSU, our ceiling isn’t close to Texas.

Not everyone prefers overcrowded metro areas that come with a cool tax. I could have moved to Nashville many times over the last 20 years, but have declined to do so for similar reasons. I don’t mind driving over and working there occasionally, but there’s no way I would live there and deal with the constant terrible traffic (and no hope of it ever improving), higher prices for everything, pretentiousness, etc. There are a lot of parallels between Austin and Nashville.

You talk about very high income. Only a multi-millionaire isn’t going to notice the difference in prices, especially home prices, between places like Austin and Nashville and a more reasonably priced, less urban area in the South.

"Open mindness?" " liberal ? "

If that's not an oxymoron I don't know what is ?

Kind of like calling them "progressive"

In my experience, when liberals take over government politics, no progress is ever made

You are completely delusional if you truly believe the ceiling is higher here at LSU vs Texas. The amount of money Texas has and the amount of recruits in Texas trumps LSU.

As someone from south Louisiana that has called Austin home for 17 years, I agree with all of this. Im not a Longhorn fan, however. I do dislike them less than Aggy though.
