I agree. I said before the loss of Kateri Poole was bigger than we thought. She had enough ball handling skills to possibly handle some minutes at point. The whole backcourt would be different and more depth. Hopefully Poa keeps it going.

K Poole was not a loss. She came back this year overweight and lazy. She was slow on the court. She was one of them causing trouble in the locker room.

HVL is too slow for PG position. Too slow getting up the court and too slow making decisions when under pressure. That’s why teams were pressing LSU a lot . And it took a toll on her shooting. She’s a 2 learning to play 1. I do think anyone questioned her skills as a 2 guard. KM is making some adjustments for the long haul. She need a rotation of 8 to make a run in any tournament. Especially at PG.

This is the lineup moving forward. Poa will need to play bigger minutes and contribute by facilitating the offense and playing tough D.
It keeps HVL, Williams, Johnson, Morrow, and Reese fresh.
Smith was a bigger loss than Poole but losing both accelerates the time table for Del Rosario to play a bigger and bigger role. Kent looked good off the bench as well as that 8th man up.

The main problem is that Velez just is not ready to contribute. Poa will have to play more minutes and HVL,Flau J, and MW will have to rotate.
