Football tickets 30-50 yard line

This is not a thread where I ask to buy or list tix for sale so I figured the Rant would be a good place for this. This is more of a location advice thread.
I’m thinking of upgrading my tix to this location on the LSU side and only going to one or two games a year then selling the rest. Obviously they’re expensive as hell ($5,400 for three) but I’m only a two year ticket holder so I’m not quite sure how easy they would be able to sell for SEC and other bigger games in this area. I’m considering getting these then selling all but one or two games. How likely am I to at least break even or only end up being out of pocket a thousand or so when it’s all said and done? I’ve sold tickets to exactly one game (Florida game last year) and ended up getting over $500 for three in section 243. I’d assume I could easily ask for $300 a piece around the 30-50yd line on the LSU side? What do those of you who regularly sell tickets in that location think? If I upgrade to this location, am I going to be stuck with an out of pocket cost of $3,000 or higher?

Bama and Ole Miss are the likely tickets that would be easy to sell
For the non conf games outside of UCLA you would be lucky to get face value
I wouldn't pay that price for those tickets if you only want to go to two games

What game are you keeping? The biggest game or two is where you recoup your money. But if you are planning to go to the bama game, you won't get your money back on the others, I don't think. I sell my friend's tix for him (east side 40 yard line) often. He barely gets his ticket cost back (SeatGeek) on the lower SEC games. The rent-a-wins games usually don't get back much unless you list them early and hope someone overpays. The top SEC games will always sell.
All of that is based on how the team is doing. Wins = higher tix sells.

no way I'd go through the hassle of trying to sell the majority of the season if you only plan on going to 1 or 2 games. Just buy tickets in that area for the game(s) you want to attend
Nichols/south al/vandy you won't get half of face
UCLA you may get close to face
Ole Miss/Bama/OU you will sell for a slight profit but it won't cover the loss taken on the OOC games

I don’t think the perks of being a “season ticket holder” are that great.
You’d be better off just buying tickets to the 1 or 2 games you want to go to.
With the home schedule we have this year, it’s absolutely absurd you’re only interested in going to only 1 or 2 games

Thanks. This is what I needed to know! And yes I’m very excited about this years home schedule but am intrigued about upgrading to one of the best spots of the stadium. I’ll upgrade to another location instead and go to all the games like I wanted to do originally.

you will always be able to sell them… may not cover your taf cost on small games but sell one big one and you should be able to cover cost..
I sit close ( not that good though!) to those areas and the area you describe is usually full and crowd there stays for the game..

Just take your $5400 and buy two games in that section on the open market. Probably won't cost that much.

To get those tickets on the West side, you will need to be top 500, minimum, in TAF. Those seats just don’t come available very often.

Wait...you originally planned to go to all the games with the seats you already had, but thought about upgrading to more expensive seats and attending just one or two games? Doesn't compute. Sounds like you were just looking at the better seats as a way to make money until you realized that only the major ticket brokers routinely make a profit selling tickets.

Just buy tickets to the one or two games you want to go to instead of having season tickets.

So I tried this for a couple years at the jags games. That was a stupid arse thing to do. They sucked those years. I would have no feel on the LSU ticket market. The key as some have said is you have to be ok with not going to the best games. Maybe if you hit one early big you can go to the next one.

I have tickets on the west side 40, and outside of two maybe three games a year you won’t make back what you spent factoring in the tradition fund.
It’s not worth it just to resell them in my opinion, but I do think if you have an opportunity to get in section 103 you absolutely should.
This years home schedule is more exciting than years past and if the SEC goes to one more conference game a year that may change the dynamics going forward. My only complaint is get rid of neutral site games.

you will get well over face value for the big games, but you will lose your arse on the cupcakes. The trouble with your plan is, you will probably want to go the big games and sell the cupcakes....so you wont nearly break even.

It’s easy to sell the sec tickets at face value, but you have to pay the tradition fund which is more than the tickets face value and you’ll never get that back. Best case scenario is you get back a third of what you pay for the season. But you probably won’t even get close to that. That’s been my situation for years. I should stop being a season ticket holder but so hard to give up the tickets for good.
