Some silly number on a jersey does not define leadership. Let it go. It started in what year, 2007? 16 years ago. I'm sure "recruits" who were 2 years old at the time have no idea what that means. 7 really set a good example last year didn't he? Thank God he's gone.

9 should never be worn again Need to retire it this year

If 20 is the standard, then yes, 9 for the Heisman Trophy winner and National
Champion should also be retired.

I would also say that 72 for Glenn Dorsey is also deserving by that standard, considering the offensive bias to the Heisman.

It’s about time to let that silliness go isn’t it?

Last year they announced 18 after tone of the practices the first week of camp. I’d imagine they will do something similar.

7 was always announced before fall practice even started so maybe no one will wear it this year.

I’m fine w 18 staying because it’s essentially the team voted captain. Totally fine with letting 7 die

I think we will find out 18 this week, maybe today.

For #7, I’m not sure. I’d almost say BK had a short list of guys he’d allow to wear it & it’s possible they didn’t want it. Either that or he is still trying to decide between 2 or 3 guys.

I would like #7 to go to a player coming off of a great freshman year, like TM7 did. I don't want another highly rated draft eligible player getting it, seems to be a curse for them.

They should stop with the silly numbers and just let anyone that wants to wear it, wear it. Seems it's more of a curse lately than anything else.

Kayshon was planning on coming back for his senior year & could've had one of the best years ever for a #7 until some off the field stuff made him change his mind.

I think 18 would be great on Daniels this year with it being 20 year anniversary of ‘03 natty and Mauck wearing it
Daniels has all the traits they look for to wear 18

I always thought 7 was a player wanting it and asking the coaches. Not the other way around.

I know 18 is decided on by the coaches and the former 18’s.

Keep 18 but 7 was ruined when that guy from Texas Tech got it
