If we’re a 3 seed, that’s probably not possible.

LSU has a few bounces of the ball away from being 18-12 in conference and being a top 8 seed.

Yeah I just can’t get behind this statement

No

But we’re one of the best 30. Which makes this stupid debate regarding being in the tourney silly.

Are we playing like a top 15 team on Friday, Sat? Yes.

You want the head coach to say that we suck?

We have 13 conference wins.

Should have won game 1 against Alabama - 14
Should have won game 2 against Florida - 15
Should have won game 2 against Vanderbilt - 16

These are games where you can point to specific LSU miscues that directly led to the winning runs scoring. That doesn't take into account

Arkansas game 2 where Braswell's error directly led to the winning run - 17
Arkansas game 3 where White was about 2 feet from taking the lead in the 9th - 18

That also doesn't take into account games like Alabama game 3 where it seemed like LSU had RISP seemingly every inning and was hitting line drives directly at people. The margins are so, so thin. LSU could be in a much different spot right now.

Top 10 teams lose to high school level teams all the time.

You are basically saying every close loss we had we “should have” or “could have” won. I noticed you didn’t have any close wins that “should have” or “could have” been losses. Why is that?

Do we have as many of those as the other way around? No

It doesn’t matter. You can’t just take every close game that you lose and say you should have won. He said we should have won game 2 vs Vanderbilt. Why does he think that?

I think that’s very debatable.

I am showing how close we were to being an 18 win team. At a minimum, we SHOULD be a 16 win team, fighting for a regional host.

Because they don't really exist. There is a total of 2 conference games we won by 1 run. One of which is the Mississippi State game where we blew a 9 run lead, and the other is the Auburn walk off, where the only reason the game was tied was because of an unearned run on a passed ball.

LSU hasn't really "stolen" or had a game given away (in our favor) this year.

I'm not saying about every close game. I'm saying it about very specifiic games, like Vanderbilt, where passed balls/errors on routine plays resulted in multiple Vanderbilt runs. Things that quite frankly shouldn't happen at this level.

ETA - my point is LSU is not as bad as our record indicates.

Jay threw the best pitcher in the history of the program against a TERRIBLE Tulane team last year...no way he pitches off!

That is the type of stuff that goes into making you a bad or average team. Every team in the world could say "if we played mistake free baseball we'd be better and win more games"

You're missing the entire point.

I said LSU is a few bounces of the ball away from being an 18 win team. You said you couldn't get behind that statement. I provided examples of multiple games LSU pissed away this season.

LSU being 4-9 in conference in 2 or less run games is not a normal occurrence that every team in the conference can point to and say "aw man we should have had 5 more wins!"

I get it. You are counting close games and saying that because we made an error or hit a foul ball that was almost fair as a game we should have or could have won. Florida lost 8 SEC games by 2 runs or less. No one is going to look at every foul ball that was almost fair or error that they had and say that they should have a better record.

We lost 3 series to teams with a 13-17 record. Yeah it sucks that they were close games, but they made the plays and we didn't. It is what it is.
