I think they are still in. Saying they’re a “lock” is a stretch because they would be sweating it, but I doubt they’d even be on the “Last 4 In” bubble with a loss.

Their metrics are better overall than the other 13 win teams, and 1 game in the conference tourney won’t change it enough to drop them below that many 13 win SEC teams who make it if the committee decides to leave 1-2 out.

A few quick tidbits on the bubble teams:

- LSU has the most Q1/2 wins with 18 (SC and Florida next best with 15).
- LSU and SC are tied for the fewest Q3/4 losses with 2 (Vandy and Florida next with 3.)
- LSU is 3rd in WPct vs Q1/2 at .500. (Cal at 12-10 and Troy at 13-12 are only bubble teams with a winning record vs Q1/2, but both lost 8 Q3/4 games.)
- GT with 9 and Xavier with 8 are only non-SEC bubble teams with more Q1 wins than LSU’s 7, but both are below .500 vs Q1/2 while GT has 6 Q3/4 losses and Xavier has 12.

So if Bama loses Tuesday and LSU wins, along with whoever else winning or losing, Bama is still one of the SEC teams in? If they answer is, "well it depends" then they aren't a "lock." I don't consider any 13 win SEC team a lock at this point. I think they should all get in, but there will be some sweating it out next weekend.

The committee has always shown a tendency to favor rpi over every metric. Now they are allowed to look at, but arent required to view the kpi, so maybe they look at both of these things. Id imagine rpi is still weighted slightly more because kpi isnt mandatory, just an aid to be reviewed if a member wants to see it. I cant see a scenario where bama is left out, they are the only lock amongst the 13-17 teams IMO. Their rpi is 18, their kpi is 17. A loss today and they maybe at worst drop to 22 in both after the week of games is over? They are in

Kansas beats K-State in game one on the back of a SF RBI to take the lead in the top of the ninth by former Tiger Collier Cranford.
