Anyone saying “this isn’t true” or anything along those lines is a moron. You KNOW what he means. Come on.

BK wisely chose not to be held hostage by uncles and former coaches with their hands out. You can’t allow your program to be basically ransomed like that or it will end badly down the road for you.

Bingo. Kelly decided not to get into a bidding war. NIL has been opened, let's see what, if anything the NCAA can do to stop this runaway train, that they let off the tracks.
Folks really don't know what goes into recruiting. Kelly is doing what most successful coaches do. Trying to recruit the talent needed from the High Schools.

That’s close to the mark. I’d recommend reading a book called “Hot Dog Money”. Story of the insider who worked with law enforcement to get 10 convictions relating to college basketball. The same investigation that Will Wade got caught up in along with Auburn, Arizona, Alabama, Louisville and other programs.
Coaches, middlemen, players family, shoe companies, boosters, and “agents” all after the best HS players. His contention is that NIL will blow up in spectacular fashion and the NCAA is powerless to stop it even if they wanted to. After all, it sorta was their idea when those convictions put their backs against the wall.
Ugly portrayal of college recruiting which is now going public after being behind the scenes for years. And don’t kid yourself - any major college athletic program is involved to some degree. Very little moral high ground here

Kelly is a competitive coach that wants to win and as we all know HC’s are liars. Kelly is paid an unbelievable amount of money and If he wants a player bad enough, he will ensure the money is available.
