I'd honestly like to see how well these high priced transfer players actually produce, and how long they actually stick around.

I get what he's saying, but we all know that's not true.

Well Williams wanted 1.5mil to be an average SEC defensive lineman for one year. That’s absolutely absurd.

What he’s saying is that “we’ll pay you what you’re worth but we’re not going to get stupid”

Me too. I really think this shite show will fix itself. Very rich donors don’t like wasting money. Eventually they will start to get contracts

not gonna win much without it. I can see not buying average players or not being the one to buy players.

Aggies already found out under Jimbo.

It’s kind of like what the NY Yankees also find out. When you recruit people whose true passion is primarily money, performance is not the primary focus.

There's obviously going to be NIL money, but why would you pay $1 million + for a player who couldn't crack the starting lineup on his previous team?

It's going to be a shite show for a couple of years, but it will sort itself out. I think Kelly is taking the right approach.

Of course he won't. He's just going to rent them.

Sounds good but news flash, unless something changes you need to buy players to compete.

Like A&M?

How well did that work out?

You guys are acting like we didn't try to buy Williams or Barrow, the offers from LSU's side were there and by all accounts competitive until they weren't enough.

Ok so let’s say we pay Damonic Williams 1.5 for average defensive line play for one season.

That’s more than either of our Offensive Coordinators make btw but let’s say we do it.

We can afford an extra 1.5 this year no problem.

But what happens next year? Williams is gone but Whit Weeks is still here. All of those freshman DBs are still here. Nuss is still here. That whole incoming 2025 recruiting class is here.

Do you honestly think they won’t be in BK’s office saying “well you paid him that and I’m better than him so where’s my money?”

What do you do when half your starters walk into the portal because you can’t afford to pay them what you paid a very average defensive tackle?

Be careful of the precedents you set.
