There will be questions if we don’t seriously compete for a championship this year. With wide open recruiting and transfer portal, can’t use the roster excuse.

I agree. We had a good year in football last year. Should he be expected to win it all next year? Probably not. But there will major pressure on him. Mulkey and Johnson did it in year 2. Brian Kelly is trying take some of the pressure off of himself with that statement, which is very smart. But if we don’t get into the playoff, he’s going to catch a lot of heat.

If a caveman like Coach O can do it in year 3, surely Brian Kelly can do it in 2 with a wide open portal and recruiting restrictions, right?

Around 40-50, but thankfully the NCAA enacted unprecedented recruiting and transfer guidelines to allow coaches to rebuild rosters.
