to run the table? The offense is phenomenal, and the defense can’t get any worse than last week (rock bottom). If the defense just improves by 20%, no other team on the schedule has an offense that can keep up.

Depends on the offensive production against good to great defenses. Better than Ole Miss ahead.

20% is a lot. And Texas A&M will score on us no doubt, especially if they are playing for a spot in the SEC Championship.

I thought we had a good shot to run the table prior to last weekend.

Now? Very slim chance (not counting last week's loss, obviously).

The defense last year got slowly better.
This year slowly worse.
Put several good performances together by the D then maybe.

With this offense we will have a chance to win every game.

BUT

If they have a bad quarter or half and the defense doesn't play better than what they have shown thus far then we will be in trouble.

So yes I think we a chance to run the table but the likelyhood that we can just outscore everyone all the time is hard to put money on.

If the defense show a damn pulse then the offense will have a chance to pull out some victories. By pulse i mean can we at least have the opponent PUNT at least 4 times in one game? Is that asking too much?

Only 1 more loss would be very surprising

I’m excited to see how the defense responds tomorrow.

Fact is we won the west last year after starting 4-2 & we should be right back there again.

A&M might be the only team that can keep up with us in a shootout

Yea, if you’re already in the top 10. It’s not a lot if you’re literally the worst P5 defense in the country playing significantly below your talent level

Does anyone actually think A&M is going to be playing for a spot in the SECCG?

Correct. A roughly 20% improvement at this point just means that instead of a “terrible” defense, they would have a “slightly below average” defense. Very doable

With this team, no deficit is insurmountable because of how good the offense is and no lead is safe because of how bad the defense is. That’s usually not a recipe for running the table.

Have you been taking naps while the defense is on the field?

Always going to be a rollercoaster with this years team. Like I’ve said before, if we pull this one out tomorrow… we have one more road game left and 5 home games.

I want to believe the defense can get marginally better. The problem is you're assuming the offense will remain as explosive as they have been in the 2nd half vs Arkansas and against Ole Miss in every game from here on out. That is an INCREDIBLY difficult ask of the offense. Even the 2019 offense wasn't explosive in every game (see the 23-20 victory over Auburn).

Honestly, the best you can probably hope for is the defense to get stops on 60% of the opponents' possessions. And of the possessions they don't get stops, they hold the opponent to FGs on 50% or so of those possessions. If they can do that LSU should have a chance to win every remaining game on their schedule. Emphasis on CHANCE
