I understand what Kelly is saying. I just hope for his sake that he knows his team well enough to not need paying one of these DL he has lost. It will get hot fast.

If there is a fear that the kid may not even have the credits needed to graduate, I can understand the staff slow playing it.

That is was just a rumor. You think he can get into Indiana academically and not LSU?

Well if you believe his Twitter then he chose Indiana over Michigan Miami FSU Wisconsin TAMU Arkansas as well.

The august entry date from what I understand was accepted fact. Hence Indiana rather than one of the above.

I would have still taken him but I am sure in his shoes us circling back after canceling the visit only because we missed on others may not sit well.

Need to get the ULM kid and be done.

It’s telling that you think academic risk is about whether someone can “get into” the school.

Please enlighten me then as to why he wouldn’t be a take when it’s our most needed position and he’s one of the best available?

I have no idea whether the rumors of him being a grades risk are true, but I’m confident that if they are it has nothing to do with whether he can “get in” to the university.

If a guy who was being targeted by LSU, FSU, and Michigan is going to Indiana you can bet there’s something going on, though. If there is a risk he won’t be academically eligible it would certainly make sense.

The guy just wants to stay close to home if he chooses Indiana. But if he's not going to be available until August. I'm not sure how much good that will do anyway. He misses strength and conditioning while trying to adjust to the heat and humidity of Louisiana.

It’s already been reported that the “issue” is that he can’t join until August. Beggars can’t be choosers though

… because of not graduating in May as planned. Which would make him an academic risk.

You aren’t putting stuff in context though.

We clearly backed off while waiting on the others.

Some kids don’t take well to that particularly if a school has been with them the whole way like I’m sure Indiana was.

So sounds like we should have been focusing on more realistic guys? Should have gone home with the 7 from the bar instead of striking out with the 9s. Now going home alone. (I know Williams and Barrow aren’t truly 9s)
