video of jordan from last night

ended up having 3 hits against flower mound, 3-4 triple and a strikeout looking

against live oak 1-2 with a triple and 2 walks

triple vs flower mound

single vs flower mound where he shows the speed LINK

triple vs live oak. elite swing here

Bat speed is insane for a freshman

most impressive on the field yesterday was diego corrales. it was his 18th birthday...kid threw 8 innings against live oak, gave up 2 hits(really should have been ruled errors) then in the bottom of 9th, hit the walk off to win.

Walk off to win

Hill is a headcase and thankfully LSU had no interest.
I think Hill underestimated how much better pitching he will see in SEC play.

There is always middle ground

“old for you grade” vs “you’re not supposed to be in this grade”

I was old for my grade and never was 19 at any point in HS. And I had a drivers license the first week of Freshman year lol

this is me and my middle kid is like this. my oldest will grad at 18 but only turns 18 a month before. i would like to hold him back but wife has a point about social aspects and his personality. would be hard on him although he wants too, so go figure

Andre Modugno just decommitted from Duke. I wonder if we go after him.

ETA: Modugno is a 2024 OF from IMG. Highly rated prospect.

I'm surprised Jay and company aren't on the Darrah kid from Brother Martin yet.

Update to the 2024 PG rankings since I last posted everyone back in like August last year. Here's how every commit has trended for us:

#9 -> #10 C Cade Arrambide - TX
#19 RHP William Schmidt - LA (Wasn't a commit back in Aug last year)
#82 -> #57 SS Casan Evans - TX
#31 -> #63 SS David Hogg II - TX
#64 LHP Boston Bateman - CA (Wasn't a commit back in Aug last year)
#71 -> #68 3B Kale Fountain - NE
#81 1B Ryan Costello - NJ (Committed just after I posted my Aug list last year)
#127 -> #91 SS Michael Ryan - LA
#22 -> #104 RHP Landon Victorian - LA

#273 -> #268 OF John Pearson - LA
#405 -> #282 LHP Brady Kehlenbrink - MO
#337 -> #420 RHP Grant Breaux - LA

Decommits since then:
#115 -> ??? (Cant seem to find new ranking) RHP Matthew Champion - CA [claim Oregon commit on twitter but uncommitted on PG profile]
#197 -> #265 OF Max Charles - AZ [Grand Canyon commit]
#254 -> #323 OF Noah Malone - CA [Loyola Marymont commit]
>500 -> >500 SS Owen Galt - LA [Louisiana-Lafayette commit]

Here's how the Top 500 overall Louisiana kids are ranked now:

#19 RHP William Schmidt [LSU commit]
#91 SS Michael Ryan [LSU commit]
#104 RHP Landon Victorian [LSU commit]
#150 SS Hayden Federico [Ole Miss commit]

I'm going to try to make it to one of his games this spring. I can't guarantee he'll be pitching when I go, but apparently his stuff has ticked up a bit since last year and he's low to mid 90s now.

Another JUCO arm to keep an eye on is Augie Mojica from San Jac. RHP with good stuff, would be a bullpen piece.

catholic went 4-0 and won their bracket

Img beat barbe but barbe did chase franco out the game(#1 lhp in nation) after 3 innings. Barbe went 3-1 in the tourney

sam houston won the big Georgia tournament going 4-0 and beating trinity out of jacksonville

Barbe has lots of injuries. The A&M committed catcher is out right now, JD ALexander(#1 soph in state of LA)_ is hurt right now

Jordan Griffin has looked awesome though overall. Struggled a little against St louis last night, but he was asked to sac bunt a lot. But bat speed is unreal, he is strong & fast AF and is now about 5'8 165. Elite elite hand speed and 60 yard dash. Has gotten much better defensively. Is now a legit CF with elite cover ability.

I have been extremely impressed by him so far. the Littleton kid is another freshman that LSU is on and has huge upside. He is a freshman, tall lanky lefty who has run it up to 87 already. Very projectable frame and LSU loves what they see so far.

I know LSU would take the catcher as a MIF but i believe is family legacy at A&M and they are getting a good one.

Catholic is best team in the state and absolutely loaded. if you get a chance to go see them...do it.

brother martin is pretty stacked too. Lots of kids that are juniors from the LL team that won it all.

west monroe is stacked too, oozing with talent. the size they have is dumb. their ability to play the long ball is crazy. lots of SEC commits.

Sam Houston just bumped into top 50 nationally after their showing in GA, wouldnt be surprised if they are able to take district from barbe with all the injuries

We seem to be keeping tabs on a handful of JUCO infielders and LHPs.

We don't have a lot of infield bodies projected on the infield roster next year, so they may be looking for insurance policies ahead of seeing what's out there in the portal.

I know the guys currently on the rosterare highly thought of by the staff, and if we fare well with the draft on HS guys, it may not be an issue.

I don't post about players we're not connected to very much. I just saw a kid on twitter from Cisco JC throwing 98-99 and touching triple digits. Kyrin Leblanc is a RHP from St Martinville that plays at Cisco currently. I saw some indication he may be committed to Texas State, but I didn't see any reference to it on his Twitter.

He's still figuring out how to harness it, 19 Ks 9 BBs in 11 innings. But that's a big arm.

Kyrin Leblanc - NJCAA

Sounds like a kid who will be signing a pro contract with that speed come the draft

Looks like he was very old coming out of high school - 19 years 8 months old at 2022 draft time. Will be 21 years 8 months old for 2024 draft. He was only throwing 89 when he came out of high school.
