We dont need Lee to make an impact. Just be serviceable. Take up some blocks, thats all at this point. Same thing with Shone.
We are paying our DT coach alot of money to make that happen and I expect he will.

Our defense will not be as bad as last year even without added DTs. I firmly believe that. Our new defensive staff is light years better than last year.

Edited again to address depth chart for dummies. McKinley isn't even listed on the 2 deep you speak of and neither is Paez so you think itll be the same now as it will be at end of season IF we dont add transfers?

Breaux is up to 275 already from 258. We got bodies to be coached up.

I agree on the coaching staff. Still need some transfers because injuries happen

You literally just said this team is going to finish 6-6 because the DL sucks and Kelly will be on the hit seat! How is any of that positive?
It would be different if I was the only one calling you out but I’m not. Again if you want to be a depressive, insufferable arse that’s fine and just go be a bandwagon fan like so many others that way you are never disappointed.

"Draco is characterised as a cowardly bully who tricks and hurts people to get what he wants; he is also a cunning user of magic. He was played by Tom Felton in the Harry Potter film series."

Jacobian Guillory has been on our 2 deep for years and was so in our SEC West Title team. Jalen Lee transfered from Florida. Shone Washington was on Georgia's team at one point. All SEC schools. We also have a 5 Star coming in that'll likely be in rotation.

Guillory is an SEC caliber DT for sure. And we all have hopes for McKinley but he'll be a true freshman making the jump from high school to the SEC. Ideally he would be worked into the rotation as a depth and developmental piece, not be needed as a key cog.

Jalen Lee may have played in the SEC, but he's not an SEC caliber DT. In 3 years at Florida, he accounted for 19 tackles. In THREE years. Last year we rotated him in for 7 games, he recorded 2 tackles. He is what he is, JAG.

Shone Washington played in 1 game at Georgia before transferring to Last Chance U. He played very well in Junior College and I think a lot of us had high hopes based on his high school profile and performance last fall. But according to those who watch practice and cover the team, he hasn't shined.

As I said before, I totally understand why Kelly declined to pay Damonic Williams' asking price. Damonic Williams is a good, not great player. He got paid that asking price because a number of teams, including us, mismanaged their DT position so it was a "supply and demand" thing and Oklahoma outed themselves as the most desperate. Oklahoma will now have to deal with a locker room in which the highest paid player is maybe their 12th best player.

But we absolutely mismanaged the DT position. We have one starter, a prospect and some depth pieces instead of our traditional two or even three deep. There's nothing we can do about it now but let Bo try to McGyver this collection of players into a serviceable unit.

That's a more reasonable response from you that i can and probably most posters agree with. I was pointing out the craziness that we dont even have FBS level DTs you stated.

Edited to add I'm a optimist so I see Bo turning this unit into a serviceable unit. Not good but serviceable. I really like our edge guys tho with Womack, Swinson and Reliford tho so if the dts can become serviceable we might be alright on the totality of the dline.
