This was after Blidi went to AU.
It was waaaay after Overton and Nolen went to our rivals.

What a joke.

We are going to get wrecked.

Is CJ West better than what we have on the roster?

We are Fd without a good defensive front with depth. CBK dropped the ball on this one.

No, but this is year 3 and Kelly can’t recruit the DL. It’s more than portal transfers at this point.

You can’t build a winning SEC team without a dominant DL. We are pitiful.

LMAO. Yeah, how can people even pretend to spin this like the staff is happy with the guys we have?

It's beyond clear they knew we needed more guys, they apparently were blindsided by the fact that kids are looking for $$$ these days, and they’re now trying to act like it’s not DEFCON5.

But in reality, they never thought we’d pick up essentially nobody in the spring window.

Because saying "we need DT's" and not thinking a DT from Kent St. is worth a million dollars can exist at the same time. West chose Indiana over LSU AND Michigan. Ummmmm, ok.

If they did, I don't think they would be looking for DTs as hard as they have.

How is it so hard to believe that a transfer from Kent fricking State might be a push compared to a guy on LSU's roster? If we was willing to come here for free or a little bit of money, fine. He's not worth dropping a ton of money on.

There's some positions you can get by with average talent. The trenches ain't it. Games are won and lost there.

I know CBK views the positions of QB, WR etc. like high paying NIL positions, but the hard core truth is teams win championships with dominating linemen. Trying to make noise with average linemen is fools gold.

If true, 9-3 is likely your ceiling.

Les Miles had a year like this in which all of his DT’s returning sucked. The starters turned out to be a returning sophomore and a true freshman. The experienced DTs we returned were backups. And they ended up doing okay. The starters were Christian LaCouture and Davin Godchaux. Frank Heron and Greg Gilmore were the only two decent backups.

We sucked that year - it was the year we lost to Wisconsin, and it got Les fired. The defense wasn’t great - they only gave up 153 yards per game on the ground - and the offense really sucked.

The DTs held their own that year.

Did we not get Wisconsin's starting nose tackle? Why is everyone forgetting that. He's likely your other starter opposite Guillory. Now we need to find 2 capable backups between Lee, Washington and the 3 freshman McKinley, Breaux and Johnson. With the emergence of Reliford in spring, SDE is 3 deep there so they can afford to rotate Shand or Jones inside at times during the games.

How about the ones that said our depth there is fine there was a several page thread last week where people were trying to justify our depth because we have a bunch of names on the roster at DT. Some of them are just 275 lbs (allegedly) freshman who played the edge in HS
