After noticing several sink holes developing in my backyard, the city ran a smoke test and confirmed I have four leaks coming from our sanitary sewer line. Unfortunately, it is out of their servitude regarding repairs. Length is approx. 20ft. in my backyard.

Does anyone have recommendations for residential plumber in Baton Rouge that can complete this type of sanitary line repair work and backfilling? Thanks in advance!

And consider yourself lucky it's not under the slab of your house. That runs into $$$$$$$$ real quick.

I live in an old house on a slab and that is one of my biggest concerns. Been here for 32 years and have only had one clog that required a plumber to handle in the main sewer line. Luckily the broken piece was away from the house about 3 ft. down under the front lawn.

All other smaller clogs I handled myself.

Thanks for the recommendation. I called Paco and he is coming by next week to take a look.

I am fortunate. We have a decent sloped grade from back to front of the lot and my house is slightly elevated on piers. The line continuing under my home can be see in the crawlspace. No leaks or sinkholes there.

Thanks again!

I've handled many a claim in South Florida where the cost to remove and replace the cast iron pipes is more than $50K. Then there is the cost to repair all the collateral damage to floors, bathrooms and kitchen accessing the pipes. The last few years you couldn't find an insurance company to take on a risk built prior to 1975. Now they are all just limiting coverage to $10K in exchange for a premium credit.

Yep. That's a more expensive option that the insurance company used to cover to avoid the cost of repairing collateral damage.
