That's perfect. Shows me at 5" over the next week. Sounds like I'm digging potatoes Sunday.

Please look at my daughter’s names for the flowers she planted. “Sunset is a rainbow helicopter”

Black and blue salvia is blooming.

Already cutting dying leaves off of squash. Damn vine borers are early this year.

Went ahead and dug up potatoes today...not risking it with next week's rain. 75 plants yielded 122 lbs. Average yield of 1 lb. 10 oz. per plant. Really solid haul. I am a firm believer is soil testing and amendments now.

Found this guy...1 lb. 5 oz.

Not much going on over by me. Just been picking squash, zucchini, and cucumbers waiting on everything else to turn. That probably means it's all going to happen at once . Here are some photos:

Gypsy peppers. These are so much bigger than the Gypsy peppers I've grown in the past.

Pretty big Fred's Tie Dye:

Big beefs:

Dingus squash. Side note - those that have grown these before? When do you pick them? I was thinking about just letting them continue to grow because of the novelty of the whole situation.

Sugar baby watermelons. No cantaloupes on the vine yet. Maybe a pollination issue, but I've had good bee activity.

Pickling cucumbers and sweet success cucumbers:

Trellis starting to look like a tunnel:

I have a box very similar to that for our herbs. It's worked out very well.

Pepper question. I planted 2 Anaheim plants for the first time. Each plant has produced 1 giant pepper. Not a single sign of more coming. Is that unusual?

Yes. Anaheims are normally pretty heavy producers. Is the pepper that each has produced at the first crotch of the plant?

I've picked them that size and let them get a lot bigger. I picked a 4 footer last year and grilled strips of it or threw in the air fryer. From what I've read you can treat them like any other summer squash as far as cooking if you pick them before the rind hardens. I let two or three harden off and cooked them the same as butternuts or other winter squash. They weren't bad but the flavor wasn't as good as a butternut or candy roaster.

This is from last year, they were great at this size.

Your squash tunnels are looking awesome. I need to invest in legit cattle panels. Right now I'm using a mix of welded wire mesh and old chain link gates I found on the curb.

Dang y’all stuff is looking beautiful!

I need to get in the garden this week. I’ve been so busy with work and other stuff that I’ve kinda neglected it the last week. I do have some blueberries starting to come in, and I picked my first few tomatoes yesterday. I’ll try to get some pics sometime this week.

Yes.

I should add that these two plants looked pretty bad after the container got flooded, but the peppers continued to grow after, and the other varieties in that planter look pretty good. The two poblanos are really looking good.

Sometimes if the plants have some type of shock event like that but have set fruits, the fruits will continue to grow, but the plants struggle. I've had this happen to me before and my theory is that the shock event zaps the plant's energy so it only has enough energy to put into one thing (i.e. growing the fruit). If you pick the peppers, the plant may be able to put more energy into new growth.

Lots of green tomatoes, and lots of rain today. When should I be concerned about splitting and what to do?

Great stuff

What do yall think on above grove vs. in ground planter boxes? I'm trying to decide on what to put in my yard so I can prepare for the next season.

Your cucumbers are doing way better than mine. They're not setting much fruit. Tons of flowers and they're taller than 6' though.
