2 mile warm up

6x800m @ 10k goal pace w/ 90 shuffle/jog rest (200m)

Didn't even cool down because my body was so defeated. I pity walked my way off the track. This humidity is relentless.

4 miles on the treadmill last night. I hate it, but I can do my zone 2 miles easier that way. With the heat and hills, it's really hard to stay in that zone. Treadmill set with no incline, 5 mph, and air conditioning I can maintain zone 2 forever.

But I hate it.

7 miles of hills tonight. Only sprinted 3 times and did the rest at lactate threshold. Just barely dodged the rain but ran in the Xero huaraches. Haven’t done that in a while.

I think I'm finally coming out of my funk! I don't think about the dude getting chest compressions every 1-2 hours!!

I'm glad everything is temporary...

Anybody here have any thoughts on the Marine Corps Marathon? Did you like it?

Considering doing it, just trying to justify paying over $200 for a marathon.

I have heard it's one of the best, great support, great course, and the best way to see DC

All the reviews of it have been stellar.

Deciding between DC and the Philadelphia Marathon in November.

I ran the MCM in 2019. It was a great course. It rained/poured during the first 2/3rds of the race, and then became really muggy during the final 1/3rd. The Blue Mile was unlike anything I've experienced at a race before or since.

So a quick update:

On top of the mental stuff I knew something might have been keeping me down and I couldn't figure out what, my inner-upper thigh was hurting since before the marathon and just below my waist would hurt a good bit in the first mile ever since the race.

Fast forward to Thursday and I'm taking to the SEC PT's as they are setting up for the tournament and both of them start looking concerned, and after I explained everything to them they told me to rest and go see my PT... they are pretty sure I have a Sports Hernia

Luckily I was going to take it easy this week with the tournament anyways, do way too much walking during it anyways and gonna let my stretched muscles... recover.

Won the local beer mile yesterday with a 7:20. May have only been running seriously for a few years, but I’ve been training for this event much longer

Anyone know of any South Florida run groups that get together during the week? Going to be back down there for about a week and want to try to hit up a run group at least once. Only one I know of is Runner's Depot in Weston but all signs are pointing to the idea that it might be just a group of much older and slower folks

thanks for checking dude. Daughter crashed around 8 thankfully. woke up a couple times but got herself back down without any intervention from us thankfully. Worst of the weather somehow managed to miss my neighborhood. just north of us was a bit rough but we were fine.

Some of y'all are freaks so I try to avoid comparing because I can't, but today I averaged 8:09 on my 3.5 run, with the 3rd mile under 8 (hills thing). It has taken months to get back down to this average since I had a calf thing and got flu or something late January. Just in time for warmer mornings where I'll slow down because I'm running at 185bpm the whole time, but still. And I'll donate blood again early June to knock some stamina off, so that was probably as good as it'll be for a while. Felt good.

Hey man that’s good stuff

I just can’t get the motivation to go out consistently right now. No desire. OKC just zapped all the momentum I had.

5 easy today @ 8:26. My second road run since my shitty 10k outing on 5/6. It felt good to get back out there. The last 2 miles felt better than the first 3. Also, second run in Saucony Tempus. I'm really liking these as trainers. First run was a 6.2 @ 8:11.

Going to start increasing intensity over the next few weeks to hit a 22:00 5k and 44:00 10k by the end of the year. Should be doable. PR 10k was 45:40/7:22 in early April. May even run a half at the end of the year.

Has anyone done the Q50 5 or 10 mile trail race at night at Fontainebleau State park in the last few years?
Im considering giving it a try and was curious how big of a race it is. Unrelated question, but since it's a night race starting at 8:15 PM, is it a extremely bad idea to consider tent camping post race? Looks like all the spots with a power source are already booked so I would have to roll with battery powered fans and well its in August... Maybe I should drive home lol.
