I’ve been prepping for 8 weeks for a powerlifting meet that’s actually this weekend (4/20). I was harmlessly warming up Friday on squats after stretching for 15 min and my right groin went bye-bye. I felt a pop and almost like a rippled effect. Since then, I can’t squat or deadlift. shite hurts. I sneezed earlier and I think I have a small hernia on the right side of my stomach too. I’ve had hernias in the past and still lifted but never a pulled groin. How long will that take to heal up and any treatments to get it to heal quicker? Guess I won’t be competing for a while, if ever again.

You should get it diagnosed before doing anything and see a PT. I’ve pulled my groin before and it sucked. I was able to train around it and through it, but it took about two months to go away completely.

Crazy how it's the lighter warm ups that will get you. With me I think it's because I'm not taking my form as seriously or trying to speed through it.

Hope you heal up quick.

I plan on it. Since I just switched jobs, my insurance doesn’t kick in until the 1st. I’ll be seeing a doc then for sure

It might be too late for the Starr rehab protocol, but Google that and see if it speaks to you.

Light weight, lots of reps, every day

I was gonna mention Starr rehab protocol as well, it won't help you make your meet, but maybe it'll get you back to lifting quicker. This sucks, I remember you mentioning in another thread that you were doing a comp this weekend and I was excited to hear how it went.

I had this happen about 5 years ago and did the recovery on my own. Squat university had a great recovery plan from a groin pull and it worked perfectly for me.

Yea I’m disappointed. It was my first meet in 6 years. I was already deadlifting the state record in my weight class and age group, so I had my sights on it big time. I’ll have to wait until later in the year.

Thanks for all the advice so far
