B. Why shouldn’t the players be able to play on both tours?

Which tour made it mandatory that the players play in all of their events again?

I didn’t think this was such a difficult concept.

Want to be in the PGA championship, be a PGA tour player. I don’t think they should send invites to any LIV golfers, let them go play in their LIV championship.

Nobody forced them to go.

Then don’t call it the PGA championship.

Fair point. Glad Talor got the invite though. I still watch both tours and would love it if they did a Ryder Cup style tournament in the future with the top guys from each side playing each other. The eyeballs that would attract...

Which is an excellent idea, I expect we’ll get something like that eventually.

The PGA is the weakest of the 4 majors as such not surprising they’re the first to hand out “special” invites.

I quoted “special” because it don’t think it’s all that special. These are top 50 guys even if the OWGR say otherwise.

So gives this the PGA a stronger field and more to talk about / drum up excitement

Does not equal “PGA Tour”. Two different entities

I wouldn’t call it the weakest. It’s the least prestigious but the masters is definitely the weakest

Pretty sure it’s usually the strongest field almost every year for the majors

It’s always going to be strongest from an OWGR standpoint because the top 100 players all qualify. You could argue the Open does a better job of getting players in form, and the US Open has the chance of getting great golfers who people don’t know about, but agree the PGA is still generally the strongest, even with the 20 PGA pros.
