I squat behind the ball and line up the ProV arrows in the general direction I think it needs to go based on the green undulation, etc., but it isn't gospel as I stand over the ball. Just helps with general orientation.

At set up I then look at the ground halfway to the hole for 3 seconds and stare at the hole for 3 seconds, then putt based on feel.

Quick process without a lot of second guessing.

ETA:

Big money putt or tournament scenario, I will do the walk around the green first to understand grain and things a bit more. But rarely. Pace of play is of ultimate importance to me generally.

I only line up putts i expect to make. Usually 8-10 feet and in. If its a lag I pick a spot near my ball to roll over or at and I just trust the read and speed

stand behind your ball, look at the expected break while putting your putter behind your ball, pick an aiming spot up ahead, look down to make sure putter is aligned, and then STARE AT YOUR AIMING SPOT WHILE MAKING YOUR PUTTING STROKE.

Don't take your eyes off. You'll putt out of your mind.

I line up all my putts using the printed line of my ball. Been doing that for a long time and I like it. Best is when it is a pure stroke and contact, the line rolls end over end and the ball tracks into the hole.
