There's an interview out there with Will Zalatoris where he says that's his biggest piece of advice to amateurs. Get the ball on the green as fast as possible.

Yea I see my buddies all the time get short sided and have no chance to get it close. They try to flop one to make par and blade it over the green. Then they 20 yards off the green and have no chance of getting it up and in so at best they make a double and at worst they blow up their entire round on one hole. All they had to do was take their medicine and get on the green and 2 putt it in for bogey and move on.
