I played at launch on PS4 when it was a disaster. Rumor has it they've made dramatic improvements since then. I just started another playthrough and I'm wondering if anyone has some recent experience with it.

Wait until Phantom Liberty releases. They’re overhauling the entire game
quote:
TL;DR: This is going to be Cyberpunk 2.0.
virtually every system of the main game has been changed and/or updated
police system is completely reworked with multiple tiers of NCPD/mercs chasing you down in vehicles according to your wanted level, apparently on level 5 maxtac will chase you down and it will be some sort of bossfight against them (source: LINK )
perks and skills have been completely overhauled, no longer simple passive stat boosts, much more active abilities like different melee finishers, a dash, or the ability to deflect bullets with melee weapons
an entirely new 6th skill tree that uses a different type of skill points (relic points) that will be used to add new abilities to your cyberware
the difficulty curve is reworked/rebalanced
the loot tiers are reworked
archetypes of enemies have been redone for more variety in combat encounters
installing cyberware now has an effect on your body and you cant install too much or else you will go cyberpsycho (no idea what that looks like in game)
you can now "attune" cyberware to one of your attributes, making it more efficient if you have invested in that attribute; example here optical camo is attuned to the "cool" attribute: LINK
armor is no longer tied to clothing, it instead tied to your cybernetics
vehicle combat is added to the game, you can even use your katana on your bike
vehicles are no longer bought from fixers, but bought through a website set up by mama welles
some vehicles have guns installed on them (machine guns, rocket launchers)
new type of infinitely replayable/repeatable missions are being added where you need to steal certain vehicles marked on your map
new activity introduced "airdrops", loot caches that drop randomly on the map that you can fight over and retrieve for yourself
tons of new random events/activities are added to make the world feel more alive, like car chases and gang fights
going cyberpsycho means you enter a rage-mode where you put out as well as receive more dmg
all vehicles have detailed damage-models, you can shoot through/break windows, slash tires and there's new quick-hacks to accelerate or stop enemy cars
gigs in dogtown are bigger and usually include more dialogue than the ones in the base game

recentish. think maybe 6 months ago. it was a smooth game with just a few hiccups on ps5. i enjoyed it. its not as awesome a game as everyone thought it was going to be but well worth some time to sink in it.

I played it for the first time a few months ago and had a great time. I played on PC and once I tuned my settings a little bit I don't think I had a single issue.

But will the driving still feel floaty?

I guess this works out as FF16 is going to take up all my time in a week

I started playing it for the first time like 2 months ago and finished it last week. I enjoyed it. Really didn't have any issues. My only complaint is that driving cars is like driving on ice, but I found that motorcycles worked much better so I stuck with that. I enjoyed it enough that I'll probably get the Phantom Liberty DLC when it comes out.

motorcycles are the only thing that is properly controllable

I picked up the trial on ps plus maybe a month ago. I will say the game is one of the single most beautiful video games i have ever seen especially considering its scale. I am interested in everything about it and with phantom liberty not only adding an expansion but overhauling the entire enemy UI, skill system, police system to make it more 5 star in the vein of GTA, it excites me bigly but idk I just cant do the first person especially in a game of this nature. I would pay 20 bucks for it which is where it sat or below for a long time until they jacked the price with their announcement and marketing of the xpansion.
I have also looked up all the spoilers and hope the expansion adds new endings and possibilities. None of the current ones are in line of something "cyberpunk" whereass the netflix anime edgerunners definitely was

I’ve owned it for a while but finally started playing this week.
I about spewed my bourbon when the Asian guy started telling the story about how he was once a doctor and intentionally killed a Tyger Claw boss….almost word for word reference to The Office

I just can’t do first person games idk why I used to but I watched mg buddy play it like 2 years after release. It’s an amazing game now and the story and total game overhaul they promise with phantom im gonna watch again. They’re going back and sort of rebuilding what can be reasonably rebuilt in the base game also

Imo all the endings just kind of suck…. For a cyberpunk story. I hope the dlc fixes this but again I just watched by bud mostly so maybe I didn’t feel it idk

Finally hooked up with Panam last night. Trippy

I have 880 hours in the game. Loved it from day one. Much easier and less of a grind after the first major patch. I am interested in all of the new changes / dlc.
I hope they balanced it a bit better or have a higher difficulty. Late game hacking is a bit god like which is fun but late game has no real challenge. And I suck at games. lol/

I started playing it on PS4 and stopped, but just started a new playthrough and have really loved it when i put a few hours in. I'm just now in Act 3 and have been using the samurai sword you get at the end of the mission where you have to kill the three snipers.
I know the DLC is coming up soon and don't want to have to do a new game to get to it, so should I just hold off progressing in the game until after the DLC arrives?

I played through and beat it twice. Once at launch (it would crash about every 2 hours like clockwork, but otherwise ran fine) and again when they released the PS5 patch. Really enjoyed it.

When the game "ends", your save soft resets to the (very clearly defined) point of no return. If you hadn't started a game yet, I would say to hold off. But considering how far along you are, I would say finish it so you have a full appreciation of the "vanilla" game from start to finish. You'll still be able to play the DLC within that playthrough once it comes out.
And if after the DLC, you like the system changes, you can consider a start to finish new playthrough if you so choose.

Yeah I just got to the part that says there is no turning back, but I got a ton of soide quests to do, so I'm gonna knock them all out. I think I'm probably under leveled right now. I believe I'm at 24 or 25, something like that. I've been using the monowire lately and that thing is OP as frick.

I waited until the ps5 update and played. Had a blast and largely no issues regarding crashes and performance.
Only issue I had was how large the world was. It felt quite empty at times.
Story and gameplay were good I thought.
When does the DLC come out? Wonder if it will be any good.
