+1 on the desserts, they're legit

I like the aforementioned Pit Room as well, but for the bbq staples, Truth is better by a decent margin imo.

TPR's breakfast tacos are hard to beat though

The Pit Room’s tacos, smoked chicken, salsa & queso are the best in the city.

They also have my favorite BBQ side…the pit green beans or pit okra.

My wife(no pics) and I spent a couple months in Houston. We went to Truths two weeks ago. We also went to Kileens (right by Truths), Goode Co, Pit Room, and Papas.

The best BBQ was undoubtedly Truths. Brisket and pulled pork were awesome as well as their beans and tater tot casserole. We got a dessert to go (slice of chocolate cake).

I live in La but I know that getting into Truths on the weekend was a no-go for us. So we went on a Wednesday about 1:30. They still had everything and we had a great time.

This.

Overall, Truth and Pit Room are probably a draw for me. However, Truth’s pork ribs are one of the best I’ve ever had. Their brisket, unfortunately, has left a lot to be desired, at least for my preference.

My favorite I’ve had is Feges, and I like Pit Room better, for brisket. I like Truth’s pork ribs better than both of those, though.

But everyone has their own preference. Yours is probably different.

I went to Pit Room and Pinkertons on Saturday.

BBQ wise Pinkertons destroys Pit Room. Sides and ambience wise, Pit Room destroys Pinkertons.

Didn’t make it to Truth sadly.

I had beef rib, brisket, and pork ribs at both places. Pinkertons easily wins all bbq categories.

Got to truly love the variety and options that we are spoiled with here, the best part being that there's room for all to thrive and succeed.

Are you unaware that this is incredibly common for BBQ Places?

This was my experience as well. Now it has been a long time since I have been to Pit Room so I am sure they maybe just had a bad day when I went since so many people like the place.

I went to Pinkertons earlier this year and it was on another level from Pit Room. I will say that I did not care for the jalapeno cheese rice from Pinkertons. Everything else was great.

agreed. Rice was kinda meh. Also, what’s up with no lemonade? I had to make my Arnold palmer with pink lemonade from the soda fountain.

I took a lot home from both places. But I wanted to do fair comparisons. Pinkertons was at 11:00 and Pit Room was around 4:30.

Was also supposed to hit that Asian fusion/Aaron Franklin place later but I couldn’t eat anymore
