Woody, I think wants him there, but GM was a position Orgeron made.

quote:

Thomas joined Baylor's staff in January 2020, after spending two years working with Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher. Thomas was hired by Texas A&M in June 2018, after he spent four and a half years with the Tigers, progressing from director of player personnel to assistant athletic director to general manager, a title the then newly hired head coach Ed Orgeron gave him.

Though Jones has done a great job with the defense once Ed got out of the way.

Yeah I wouldn’t object to retaining him. Even Jimbo mentioned that before the game. They prepared for a tough D and still couldn’t figure it out too well.

So, Frank Wilson is about to be available. What SEC team grabs him?

Kelly, traditionally has had Run & pass game coordinators, both usually defensive assistants. Which isn’t totally uncommon

The only time I’ve seen running game coordinators and passing game coordinators that were defensive coaches, it meant that they were the defensive passing game coordinator and defensive running game coordinator, not offensive. Pretty sure this was brought up with Kris Richard.

I'm aware that the GM position was created to entice Austin back from USC. Again, it is a hybrid position between the football staff and the AD.

Woody hired from A&M where he had been his assistant AD there. He reports to Scott.

BK has a younger female that is his operations lead that he could bring with him.

With the turning around of the defense after O threw in the towel, pencil me in as being okay with retaining Daronte and giving him some help.

ETA: if none of the splash hires come. DO NOT WANT A GRANTHAM/PELINI type bust. WE know what we have with Daronte

I've had enough of binders for a lifetime. And only with the help of my friends here can I hope to never hear that word again. TIA
