I've listened to JVs comments several times and it seems to me he is insinuating that recruiting/early signing is the reason for the Wednesday announcement.

Who said anything about this being the reason.

JV said on radio we would know by Wednesday at the latest.

Why Wednesday?
I did not know O contract ended tommorrow but if it does then Wednesday makes perfect sense to introduce LSU 33rd head football coach.

I think you could announce a new coach at any time "effective" at the end of O's contract.

I don't think the fact his contract expires prohibits you from "announcing" the successor at the effective date.
