He may be right. Interview from earlier this month. Start at 10:45 where the coaching search stuff starts. Mentions having to be a machine at LSU.

People leave Louisiana and rarely come back, but $$$ does talk.

Really interesting interview...

Basically admitted that becoming head coach required him to be more outward...to speak more....

LSU was task oriented...

Baylor is much more ...and he sees and is enjoying personal growth in himself.

Says all the right things about the type of person you need to be...

Left me thinking he isn't ready for LSU...

This whole “I know somebody that knows somebody” is tiresome. Just stop it.

Agreed, hind sight is always 20/20, but you have to put yourself back in the situation back then. Not to mention you had Alleva then and O was politicking for the job. Aranda was young and probably thought he wouldn't be considered for the job because of his lack of experience. He probably just wanted to hang on to his DC job at that time. I don't think any AD would've handed the keys to the Caddy to Aranda at that point in his career. Of course Alleva did hand the keys to Ogeron.
People were excited about Ogeron and liked his personality and roots. But if someone like Woodward had been there...the O hirer wouldn't have happened.
