I think lsu is a great job but i would def think twice about living in baton rouge when other options are out there.

Prairieville
Hammond
Covington

All decent options if you want to coach at LSU.

Maybe certain coaches don’t believe in private school education for their little kids.

No. It just comes with high expectations and baggage. Not for every coach out there.

For the right coach this is a top job in the country. It’s not for every good coach in CFB but it can easily be the best for the right coach

It’s been so hard to pull in a coach because we’re not as top tier as we think we are…at least to other coaches.

There are a group of 15 schools that LSU is included in, that you simply do not see coaches jump one to another. As they are all fairly even

For some reasons, fans think LSU can just poach from these schools. Outside of Jimbo leaving Florida St, Well, that never happens.

And when there are openings at both, (Tom Herman for example), it is not hard to understand why someone may prefer one to another when you start to split hairs over what easy offers.

LSU is a top tier job. Who is available to coach each year is never the same. There are no Nick Saban’s coming back from the NFL this year.

Wrong. We’re just worn out because it started in October. Problem is the coaches are all still coaching.

3 National Titles won and played in 4 over the last 20 years. The most fertile recruiting state per capita.

Not only is LSU a top tier job, it’s top 5.

Idiot.

Coaches at top program rarely if ever leave for other schools unless it’s an alumni situation. Name the last coach who was hired away from a top 10 program to coach at another top 10 program. Jimbo is the closest thing and FSU boosters were ready for him to go so they didn’t even try to keep him.

The problem is no coach in their right mind will acknowledge they want the job when it’s open if they are currently the HC at another school. Because if they do, they get ridiculed to no end for “abandoning” their players and school. So they are forced to say they aren’t taking said open job, then it paints them into a corner that most coaches don’t have enough balls to get out of. Very few if any coaches are going to pull a Saban and flat out lie then take the job they lied about.

It's as much about who you target as it is who wants the job. If you concentrate all your effort on a coach from another top-tier program with the money to match our offer, your chances go way down. There are a TON of coaches who aren't in that position who would leap at the chance to coach at LSU. But does Woodward want them?

Lol, okay. If you say so.

LSU is a great job. Period, full stop. Anyone with half a brain knows this.

Dumb thread

Yet we have never really hired a top tier coach. Why did we settle for O? Why wouldn't Lincoln come here?

All the dudes the fans wanted are saying no. It's gonna be a mad house in here when they actually find someone to say yes. Can't wait to see it.

Live in Covington and coach LSU? You’d need another residence in BR. Understand that or get a map
