You were spot on, unfortunately, Ferris just committed to Florida.

Felt that was a given considering she grew up there. Avery Neff will probably be a tough pull for anyone as well considering she is from Utah.

I'm curious how they handle Chio's recruitment though since she suffered a back injury and will be out a little bit.

TB357, this 5 star recruit is uncommitted for 2023. Do you know if she is on Jay's radar? Her skills and lines are good. Annalise Newman-Achee. All events are shown on this video.

I will have to ask around, I imagine she is on their radar although wasn't one of the most commonly heard names I heard in terms of recruits they were originally going for at first.

Recruiting is pretty fluid though so nothing would surprise me.

She’s a 5 star??? That’s Exhibit A for why CGN rankings aren’t accurate.

I can see her walking on at LSU or another top program, but i feel like scholarship offers will not come from any of the power programs.

Powerful athlete, useful vault potential, but everything else has too many built in deductions beginning with her round off all the way through her toes on almost every skill.

RE: jpylan1

This was ONLY an inquiry for TB357 concerning the recruits LSU is looking at for 2023. Annalise Newman Achee competed as a Senior Elite in the Pan American Games last year and represented Trinidad and Tobago. I would imagine that she will land at SOME college with a full scholarship and do well.

I agree, SOME college, but just not at LSU, OU, UCLA, Utah, or Florida on a full ride. She can walk on to any of those programs, but she will not get offered a full ride from those programs with her current execution. I can see her excelling at UNC, Kentucky, or Pitt.

Nina Ballou (class of ‘25) was on the newest episode of All Things Gymnastics podcast. LSU is one of her top 3 choices (along with UF & Utah) and she’s been to a few camps including one this summer. That would be huge. She trains in Florida but has family in Louisiana.

Adriana Consoli (‘25) and Mackenzie Estep (‘25) were also at a camp.

*side note, Olivia Ahern just committed to Auburn

I’ll be honest; Trinity Thomas is a beautiful gymnast, but I am ready for her to be done with NCAA already

I would’ve been happier seeing her take a fifth year at FISK rather than UF because that would’ve helped FISK massively with developing the reputation and legacy of their program and starting off incredibly strong as a team in their first year.

Auburn's recruiting has picked up substantially since Sunisa joined that program

Why in the world would she do that? She has unfinished business at Florida

I kinda like that she is staying because I believe they are losing a few recruits and walk-ons (finally) due to gymnasts finally realizing they can contribute on other teams. I hate to see some of these girls just sit on the bench.

ETA: plus it’s not like Jenny’s not going to Jenny come post season and lose with all the talent she has. Lol

Cammy Hall is taking her 5th year but coming to LSU. She was at Utah. She vaults a 1.5. She doesn’t get much block off the table and could use some cleaning up on her form but she has been able to find the landing. I heard her vault got worse last season after the Griffeths left so maybe they can help clean her up and find that pop off the table. Always great to add a 1.5 to the team.

Lilly isn’t really a loss, from what I understand she wasn’t asked to come due to injuries. Going to Clemson is perfect, gives her another year to rest.

2020 and 2021 with the Griffeths coaching at Utah is the best I’ve seen her vault, both on TV and in person. Having her join the team will be HUGE for us on vault next year. She comes in with consistency and experience that we need on that event, she’s used to competing in front of large crowds having come from Utah so the PMAC won’t be such a huge adjustment for her, plus she has 2 coaches that she’s already incredibly comfortable with that she’ll be training with

I believe they had a long discussion with her and her family regarding her current health (gymnastics wise). She has had many surgeries over the last year or two, including a pretty major one this past spring.

I wish Lilly the best, especially in health that she can do college gymnastics. I know that has always been a dream for her.

I think she will be a nice addition, and she gives you another 10.0 vault with depth. LSU had a scholarship open and its a 1 year deal so its a win win for everyone.

For the people higher up in the thread discussing this, Annalise Newman-Achee to Cal! I love this for her!
