Why would you want to go to a bowl.

Exactly. What's so exciting about a 5-7 LSU team playing in a toilet bowl on Dec. 18 or 20th at 12 pm?

Let's just focus on next year.

You're not this stupid:

Does a 5-7 team get a bowl invite?

Kettle meet Pot, Ole Miss was 4-5 last year and went to a bowl.

We will beat ULM and A&M. The question is, do we pass on the crap bowl invite?

Dukes mayo bowl in Charlotte vs an equally shitty ACC school (Clemson would be a ratings bonanza).

LSU comes out of the tunnel with a Blue Plate mayo flag to complete the heel turn.

Yeah, something about last year stood out where teams with less than 6 wins made bowl games. Can’t quite put my finger on the exact cause…

Orgeron doesn’t deserve to Coach a bowl game.

This is the correct answer right here. Even if we do win 6 games.

I assume O is out the day after A&M regardless. But why not give our new coach 2 weeks with the team to install what he can, host recruits as practices, etc? Even at 5-7 I don't see a downside to two more weeks of football operations.

So I'd see the timing with the new coach as the driver for the bowl. Or do we think he'd be better off spending his time building a staff and recruiting rather than practicing for a bowl?

Was that “cause” you can’t put a finger on also around in 2016 when a 5 win Mississippi State team played in a bowl?

Depending on bowl location
There is some sort of tie on to academic standings or graduation rates
