They do if it looks just as bad on the University as it does on the guy they are firing...they also certainly do if the guy has dirt on the University that he would no doubt speak to the media about.
I think both are the case here.

Agreed. He clearly has some inside info imo, I just don't think it's ever particularly accurate in what he reports. I'm not sure whether that's because these situations are always completely fluid up until the moment pen meets paper or because his source isn't as in the know as he's led to believe, but either way I just can't see why people take his word as law. But ok, rant done, thank you for the entertainment Vol. Lord knows I need something to get me through the work day haha

Not pooping on Vol, but this exact thing was said earlier this morning by people not named Vol. I appreciate the content he brings, but it is mostly rehashed from sources.

I don't know if vol has any sources or not but I will say that this line of thinking is incorrect because you may absolutely decide to pay $17MM to keep it civil if the other person can burn you down as much as you can burn them down. I am guessing O knows enough to be a dangerous liability to the future of LSU athletics if they pissed him off enough. I would look at it as hush money.
