Team Champion here. Will never buy another brand. Runs 23 1/2 hrs a day, first pull Everytime and doesn't run hot. Left gas in it for 3 or 4 years once. Drained it out, cleaned carb float and ran like a champ

Briggs and Stratton 5500 that I bought for Katrina.

I have it converted to Natural Gas with a kit. I run it about 18 hours a day total. I change the oil every other day and check it every day. I have it hardwired into my breaker box. Runs all my 110 outlets, which include 2 fridges, 2 freezer and 2 window unit (8000 and a 5000 BTU).

Ran a 6 year old 5kW Centurion by Generac from Lowe’s for 3 days with no problems. Just ordered a Champion 7kW Open Frame Inverter to get a little more capacity and some cleaner power. I’ll probably install a tri-fuel kit on that one.

Generac 22KW. Ran 8 days no issues changed oil once. Had a start issue on Friday before the storm, tech was out at noon Sat and it ran fine. A neighbor had a 10 year old Kohler with a crack in engine at the oil fill cap he checked oil twice a day is still ran the full 8 days.

Predator 3000 inverter. Soon to be two.

Coleman 5500 two of them.

Honda 2000 Inverter.

My son bought 5 or 6 of the Predator 3000 today for family members.

Tomorrow I’m going to get 5 or 6 Stihl Chain Saws for family members.

Thank You FEMA.

Ran a Honda 3000 inverter. It ran a 8000btu window unit, fridge, freezer, tv, dvd, sound bar, lamps, and phone charger. Thing ran for 11 days around 18 hours a day. I turned fridge and freezer off some but it was a beast. I burned a little over 20 gallons of gas. I also had an old 5000 Coleman powermate wired to my panel. I only ran a few lights and the well once a day for showers. It used less than a tank. I didn’t run it but about an hour a day for 7 days. I was really thinking about upgrading my set up but after running for 11 day and burning 25-30 gallons of gas frick it. It works as is. It wasn’t awesome not having the whole house running but it was awesome not sitting in gas lines.

The new generators are the shite.

Y’all in the storms path. Don’t forget. FEMA will give you a disbursement of 500 cash.

They will give you a reimbursement of 800 for a generator and 250 for a chain saw.

You can buy a 3000 Predator inverter for. 899.00. A nice Stihl chain saw for 250.

Generac 22kw. People shitting on them but if you maintain them, they run

This. Brought the family to my dad’s. He has a Generac 22KW. I maintain it for him, so I knew it was ready. Ran for 8 days straight, no modifications to power usage, with one 30 minute pause for an oil change. Always full synthetic, with new filters. Gotta do the valve adjustment soon.

My theory on generac whole home’s is that EVERYONE has them. This leads to a few things:

People don’t know how or just don’t maintain them
NG supply is an issue
The sample size is huge
They don’t know how to operate them

So of course if there’s a tons of that single model out there, there will be stories of them breaking more than all the other random brands.

One guy was bitching to me today about how he knew someone that had a brand new one and it failed. I asked if it was maintained. They said it was brand new. I said yes, so did they change the oil after break in and at the proper intervals after that? “No”. Well………….

I added “they don’t know how to operate them”. I saw one walking to my office today (it’s next to a neighborhood) and they were running It without the side panel to keep it cool. You can’t do that. That’s not how it works. It has to be fully assembled so it can pull air across the engine. It being open is way worse.

Generac 24k standby. It made it 6 days, 5 hours before the power came on.

I have a new Generac 24k and it ran 4 days, 22 hours until we got power. I checked the oil after about 24 hours and it was fine. The next day the company that I bought it from came and changed the oil and filter. I am 100% pleased with it. Just my experience

I was told Cummins bought Onan, so that might lead some credibility to their generators

Katolight 35 KW with John Deere diesel, 376 hrs on it, was stored inside a cell phone tower container,,,,$8500,,,,,,,very quiet,,,,only downside is it is very large, got it on a trailer, hook it up to the transfer switch when needed,,,,,,plus side is I can bring it to the fuel vendor and top it off with red diesel.

They’ve owned them for a while. I’ve used a ton of their gen units from hydraulic units to diesels they were always rock solid. It’s why I went with mine, that and because I got a sweet deal because I know the Cummins baws pretty well since I buy a ton of shite from them.
