Standby Generac will not stay running

Pville area -- It ran for an hour then stopped running. I waited an hour and tried starting it again -- it starts, then stops, then starts... 15kw -- air filter is dry -- proper oil level -- no error codes. HG board indicated it may not be getting enough gas due to other natural gas users in area -- no clue.
Prior homeowner has it set up where you can only start it manually if that matters.
Any ideas?

Do you have it routinely serviced? Mine test runs itself once a week to keep it functioning properly. Sounds like it was sitting up too long unused.

How old is it?
The newer Generac use a lot of plastic parts that break down easily from what I have seen.

If there are no error codes than it could be the gas supply.

May well be not enough gas due to everybody else using theirs

is power surging when it is on?
more than likely its one of 2 issues
- lack of gas pressure
- stepping motor acting up which right now would be from lack of gas supply. later today it could be from overheating.
if its not raining, take the front cover off and make sure the lid stays open. Other than that, not much you can do.

Natural gas, like butane, is a bastard gas.

Yes on the service -- it does not come on automatically like most generators. Prior homeowner installed it to where you have to manually start it -- so I run it regularly.

Could be a faulty oil sensor. They stop on their own to prevent it locking up, but if the oil is good, the sensor could be bad.

Unplug the oil sensor and see if it stays running. Mine went out on my 10kw portable. $100 part and Boone had may and online was all back order so I just left it unplugged just have to keep a check on the oil but doesn’t hurt it at all to run it

I hope you don't have a service contract with Generators of LA. Scammers. Take your money, don't deliver service.

My portable generac, that everyone here and the home & garden board shits on, has been running like a beauty and starts up the first time each time.
And it cost only $1,600 for that and the interlock kit total.
