Yeah, I laughed when he pulled up, stopped and wanted a do over. It's almost like he was working on a highlight instead of his 3, except his 3 looked decent. He also was moving around pretty good.

Surprised he can hit those shots on the move like that.

Yeah, I don't think his form looked that bad for someone who doesn't really take outside shots.

WTF Actually a decent looking stroke, which is weird because it looks like he is having a stroke when he attempts a free throw

that's funny.

to be honest, his shot right there really doesn't look all that bad.

Brook Lopez is a 34% 3 point shooter, and he literally didn't start shooting 3's until he was 28 in his 9th year. although he is and always has been a 80% free throw shooter. He went from taking pretty much none for the first 8 seasons, to averaging 5.2 attempts per game in his 9th season.
Vucevic didn't start shooting 3's until he was 27, in his 7th season. He then went 3 years shooting 34%, and the last 3 have been at 40%. He also went from being 72% from the line before he starting shooting 3's, to 80% the last 6 years.
Marc Gasol didn't start shooting 3's until he was 32, in his 9th year. 37% the last 5 seasons, and he's a 78% FT shooter.
Al Horford didn't start shooting 3's until he was 29, in his 9th season. 37% in the last 6 years, career 76% FT shooter.
Ibaka started shooting 3's at 25, in year 6. 36% in the last 7 years. 76% career FT shooter.
Millsap started shooting 3's at 28 in year 8. 35% in the last 8 years. Career 74% FT shooter.

and the debbie downer part......
Adams going to be 28, entering his 9th year, but is a career 54% free throw shooter.

yeah, FT% is usually a pretty good correlation to adding range to your jumper.

so...sucks for Adams but great news for Jaxson and decent news for Zion.

Billy H is close to 70% and in his late 20's and his brother can hit 3's. Hernangomez as our new stretch 5 perhaps??

If Adam's developed any sort of a jumper, it would be a Christmas in July miracle

yeah most people just don't understand how crazy-skilled NBA players are. in practice even guys like Adams can drain 3s

remember the 1-handed Gilbert arenas v stevenson 3-point shooting contest?

Maybe he should work on making more than 44% of his free throws before he starts worrying about shooting 3’s.

All you have to do is watch Shoot Arounds before games. There are guys out there just draining 3s that have barely ever shot some in a game. Ben Simmons has done it a bunch in shoot arounds.

They couldn't do it in a game to save their life. I'm sure Adams does this every offseason.

nice to see how some value the opportunity.

morant needs to start from zero and get a jumper.
zion does too.
simmons does too.

I'm glad for Adams.
he was a mighty star for a while there in okc.
losing being the man is like ordinary people hitting 50.

Dwight Howard was shooting FTs at 80% his first stint with the Lakers.

“Can’t hit a free throw” garbage you hear a lot from good ole boys is hilarious.it’s how you know this isn’t basketball country.

So how low does one’s free throw percentage have to be to designate them as a player that “can’t hit a free throw”? Adams is shooting them at 43% in live game action when it matters.

Who cares what he looks like in an empty gym? These drills are kind of a waste of time for someone like Adams tbh because he will never be allowed to shoot these types of shots in game. This is basically a conditioning drill for him.

And if we are being truly honest with ourselves, he doesn’t even look all that impressive in that clip. Anyone with any semblance of basketball skills can shoot a couple of smooth 3’s in a row. And let’s be honest, he had a traveling violation on one of them and he stepped out of bounds on the other. This video truly isn’t one to fawn or say I told you so over.
